i teared up when your dad said your mom’s food was not only better, but she gives more. just something about it is so reminiscent of homemade meals, and the gesture of love given through food 🥹

I hate to say it but I've never seen Vietnam like this. Similar to places like Mexico it's always portrayed in a certain way that never feels like what the country and people truly are. Seeing your family's beautiful home and the gardens and cafes you visited felt like a whole new world I've never seen. It's so beautiful and calming. You really captured a special feeling in this video and your Instagram posts. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

Im VIETNAMESE, I don’t know what your GORVEMENT & MEDIA PORTRAIT us look like?? All I can say is VIETNAM NOWADAYS IS DAMM WHOLE DIFFERENT THAN WHAT HAPPEND IN 70-80-90s-00s. Life here is so much better & easier than before. Life is full of colorful, families values, cultures & enjoy. VIETNAM - Southeast Asia, still poor & developing if compare to others East Asia but nothing chaotic & dangerous as ppl imagine!! Its even safer in many Us/Uk cities - where is full of druggies high on drugs all day & thugs running over streets, parks doing all shitty stuff. And I can guarantee you, it’s more safer than Mexico. Not myself say this, alots of foreign who ever been working & travel in Vietnam or around Asia continental admit this. Vietnam & some Southeast Asia country still have alots of problems as crazy traffic & corruption, healthcar, etc.. it need change & fix in future for better systems. But it step by step changing, just need times. In recent years, the wave of foreign (us/western & South America) after travel or work here start chose their life here in Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Malay, Thailand,.. it’s not huge but it’s small amounts percentage. Its show something changing, something never happens before. Alots of US/Western (non-Asian) was shocking after they’re landing here. Their information & knowledge is UPSIDE DOWN than what their though. I have nothing against us/West or mexico, I write long comments just show you facts & others views. BTW, WESTERN MEDIA & GORVEMENT always drawing us Asian is weirdo & different types. Western media, reporters & movies painting us with their bias views. Though media, they’re teach ppl there is hateful racist towards to Asian ppl (including born AmericanAsian, AussieAsian,etc.. who been born & raise whole life in West by generations) though media, reports & movies - they tech younhful generation ignorant & racist towards to Asian. This is so sad & bad. Asian is beautiful & unique just in their way. Asian ppl is Smart, friendly, hard-working, families values, easy to going, well-blending with others race & cultures. Look at how many youngster West nowadays is fails & falling unbelievable becomes ignorant & violent, bloody racist ppl for no damm reason is so disgusting. If West don’t fix this problems & accept this is real deal problem then in 2-3 decades later they’re gonna behind by alots of East Asian & some Southeast Asia countries as well.

Many people don't know how spectacular the landscape is...check out videos from those whom did the Ha Giang Loop, Ninh Binh (he didn't really do it justice on this video), Ha Long Bay, etc. It also has the most amazing caves in Phong Nha where you can do a day trip or multi-day caving expeditions that are awesome....or just go canyoning in Da Lat, an awesome city with tons to see and do.

I was in Hanoi in December last year and was really taken aback by the architecture and the amount of greenery there. I think the plants especially those that climb on the side of the buildings really adds a lot of charm to the place! Definitely something you wouldnt see in Singapore where im from (even though we call ourselves the garden city lol) looking forward to the other videos!!

Singapore is new so it doesn't look as charming. I think the plants growing on the old buildings is what gives it charm and character and why so many love the Old Quarter in Hanoi.
