I can't breathe right now, but I'm dancing. I can't stop. I'm gonna look through your other videos to see if you got anythin. G like this, you need to give us none of that stuff. From today let's go on back to the 60s and 70s... I'm going to get some BG videos. And i'm gonna continue to dance until I collapse love you and what you do❤

I have had cancer 4 times and I'm still alive so don't give up, please. I've just had a leg amputated last January and I told my nurse once, "I just realized that I'll never dance again" but of course, like you, I hear these old songs and it makes me boogie in my chair. The best music ever, from the 60s and up. Please don't give up. Sending you much love and hugs. Keep on dancing. I'm 66 years old by the way.

The Bee Gees got thrown under the bus when the Disco backlash hit. it's unfortunate. they had 20 years of music history before they were contracted to make the soundtrack to the Staying Alive Movie. The album was such a smash success that they suddenly became the face of Disco (granted the album was one of the highest selling albums of all time), without ever being a Disco band. Without a doubt, these Australian brothers were on the same level as the Beatles and Rolling Stones.

Barry was finally inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame after being ignored for decades and just last fall received a Kennedy Center honor. He’s the last BG, the rest have passed. He’s been heavily married to his wife for over 40 years I believe and they had several children and now have grandchildren. You might know some of the other songs he wrote for other artists, like Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. He did duets with top singers like Barbra Streisand.

The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is about survival in the streets of New York inspired by the Nic Cohn paperback Tribal Rites of the Saturday Night, who was the plot for the classic Saturday Night Fever Movie, far away from funny. 😆Since 1977 it is now the fifth biggest single of all time with 33 million EAN units sold. It is claimed from in a survey of all radiostations around the globe as most airplayed song of all time in 2017- every 20 seconds - this plays everywhere around the world and for sure it is the most iconic song of the 70´s decade. 🍾It’s a part of our shared cultural heritage now - one of those pop miracles that just never gets old, never wears off, never loses its charge. It remains alive. And indeed one of the most covered pop songs in history.🎖

So funny, when you said, the song makes you change something. Robin : "The subject matter of 'Stayin' Alive' is actually quite a serious one; It's about survival in the streets of New York, and the lyrics actually say that". Barry Gibb also recalls, "People crying out for help. Desperate songs. Those are the ones that become giants. The minute you capture that on record, it's gold. 'Stayin' Alive' is the epitome of that. Everybody struggles against the world, fighting all the bullshit and things that can drag you down. And it really is a victory just to survive. But when you climb back on top and win bigger than ever before, well that's something everybody reacts to everybody".

You should watch the movie "Saturday night fever"with John Travolta. It was from 1978, the Bee Gees wrote the sound track. It's about the disco era in New York. Great music. THE CLOTHES, HAIR, DANCIN' REALLY SHOW HOW IT WAS. ❤😂💃

In addition to their vocal talents, Barry and The Brothers Gibb wrote or co-wrote more than 1,000 songs, many of which were enormous hits for other artists.

Barry in black shirt, oldest. Robin in red shirt and Maurice (pronounced Morris) in the more white shirt are twins. Barry is now 77 and the only brother still with us. There is an older sister who is not involved in the music industry. There was a younger brother Andy who had his own career. Andy died in 1988, Maurice in 2003 and Robin in 2012. This video is from 1977. It is a song from the "Saturday Night Fever" movie. Their music dates back to the '60s and continued until 2003 when Maurice died. Barry still records and does some concerts. Sir Barry was knighted by then Prince Charles a few years ago, and just recently became a Kennedy Center Honoree. They have completely different musical styles but together they sound like one voice, they could all do the falsetto although Barry did it most of the time. Try listening to songs with the different brothers singing lead .. Just a fun fact... Barry and his wife have been married 53 years.

The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bdSZi7aZnNy7gn0.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ja6PnZxhy6mtm2g.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMx4iLZmssyUYIU.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7ppqbV5uL2ykp8.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eadkdqyfqdS4m2w.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z5xies9yqtbKoo0.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. He also had a congenital heart problem that was later also discovered in Barry and Barry's second son Ashley. Try listening to the song Dreamin' on kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y7GUdbl8yLm3g6s.html which is kind of a duet with Barry. And here are the 4 brothers live on stage in 1979 doing You Should Be Dancing kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZx9hZB2xLfeqmQ.html And finally a few photos of Barry and Andy: i.postimg.cc/jS6n3Jkv/Barry-Andy.jpg and i.postimg.cc/TwnPh8M0/82c126fc42a35d3b737867af41338199.jpg and the 4 brothers with their mother i.postimg.cc/FRNMbwkD/b9b2561eadffee11347573c97063c2f8-zpsd89478eb.jpg

Since this BeeGee's video was pre-MTV, there weren't that many producers and directors specializing in techniques and camera work for music. This era was the immediate pre-cursor to the MTV generation. Real singing. No autotune used. These men started singing together as a professional singing group when 9 (Barry) and 6 years old (Robin and Maurice.) The massive amount of songs they, especially Barry, wrote is insane.

Bee Gees are such fire - the singing and production on this are incredible. The strings are gorgeous, Barry adding his highs, the harmonies of course and the inspirational messages. I suggest another great high energy song from them "You should be dancing" is probably my favorite song of theirs along with "Lonely days" from the older school.

I just didn't understand the beats that I was hearing, but you KNOW how influential their beats are because so many people sample their music across so many genres. Just look for "Bee Gees Mashups" and you will stuff with 50 Cent to AC/DC, Nelly to Deep Purple.
