This song was co-written by Garth and Kent Blazy. It was released in August 1989. BTW, this performance was LIVE and there was no smoke machine and no dancing girls and no flashing lights and he wasn't prancing around all over the stage. All we had was an incredibly talented singer and some equally talented background musicians. That's actually all we needed. We'll leave all that other stuff, plus autotune, for singers who cannot actually sing and have to do all sorts of things to distract us from that fact.
@christhewritingjester3164

It depends on the venue and the song. He had flashing lights, pyrotechnics, smoke machines, running around the stage. I say had because I don't know if he still does, but he did back in 1997 when I saw him.

Thunder Rolls and Friends In Low Places should done live in concert as he adds a 3 verse that is not on studio version. He walked away from touring during his peak after his divorce to raise his 3 daughters. He is touring again. He had a residency in Las Vegas. You wouldn't call him a crooner if you saw him running, jumping across the stage, and flying over the audience. He won so many awards. He has been awarded Entertainer of the Year award so many times that he asked to have his name be removed to give someone else a chance.

You almost have to use live performances by Garth Brooks. He doesn't share his studio recordings to KZfaq. The chances are good that a studio take on KZfaq is someone who mimics him. Concert performances are the way to go. He has a huge catalog, his shows sell out in minutes.

Yeah he just recently released his studio work on pandora but his live performances are just as good and some better so it’s not usually an issue. Not many artists are able to recreate the studio sound live but Garth always came through.

My brother and I use to leave each other songs, where we knew they'd be found when we had to go back home. We lived 500 miles apart. Our last visit he was 39. He told me he knew he was going to die soon of another heart attack, his 5th. He wanted me to be ok. Of course I wasn't. He left me this song. I left him Wind beneath my wings. Because he was my hero. He went through a lot. But he never stopped laughing, smiling, singing or caring. I miss him everyday ❤️

Garth Brooks was my first concert at 15 back in 1997. It still stands out as the best concert experience of my life. It was at an outdoor stadium and there was an actual thunderstorm rolling in when he played The Thunder Rolls. I still get chills when I hear that song as it takes me back to that moment. The rest of the concert was absolutely phenomenal as well. The whole band interaction was extremely entertaining and he put on one hell of a show. I don't know if he could still do some of the physical stunts at his current age, but man... Unanswered Prayers, Bella Wood, Friends in Low Places (with the extra verse), Thunder Rolls (obviously), The Dance and so many more. I listened to him growing up and his songs hit different when you've experienced some life.

Garth Brooks is a variable artist in that he was influenced by many different kinds of music, but predominately country music. He did a stage show in Vegas where he described his life growing up and the musical influences he had, and he's sing everything from George Jones and Merle Haggard to Aretha Franklin to James Taylor to Bob Seger and so much more. He'd sing their songs, and then sing his own songs to compare and demonstrate the influences. It would be a shame for people to not know Garth's music, not just because it's great, but since he's got more Diamond albums than the freaking Beatles, everyone should know him as they know them. People should know George Strait too, since he is the reigning King of Country Music, and also an influence on Garth Brooks.

Garth Brooks, when I was growing up, was one of the country singers that those around me who disliked country did enjoy. He has a range of styles and influences. There is a semi-documentary music set that he did going into his musical influences and how they came together to make him the writer/artist that he is. It's well worth a watch at some point, but he definitely is worth a deep dive.

Long-lasting singer and entertainer, who took years off to be there for his daughters then resumed his career. Sales? How about #2 all time! Top-selling artists worldwide as of August 2022, based on certified sales (in million units) is The Beatles @ 183M; Garth Brooks @ 157M; the Elvis Presley @ 139M and the Eagles @ 120M. Of course, Garth is still entertaining, with shows in Vegas and some tours so that 26M sales gap between him and the Beatles could close up some.

I have every one of his albums on CD, which is the issue since he refuses to put his music on streaming services and I primarily listen to music on Spotify so I have to go out of my way to listen to his stuff. That being said you need to check out as much as you can find and even some hard ones to find like Belleau Wood. The River, Papa loved mama, and The dance are my favorites lyrically.
