One of the greatest country songs ever written. It’s a masterpiece. Garth got so big that it just became another one of his hits, yet if anybody else sang it, it would be their crowning achievement.

One of my big brothers was 7 when I was born. I had asthma really back. At night when I had an attack he would sing songs to me. When we grew up we lived 500 miles apart. We would leave each other cassettes where we knew we would find them. At 39 my brother told me he was going to die soon. This was the last song he gave me❤️

Yes, this is very early Garth. Congrats on finding a video of him. It's tough to find actual recordings of him here on KZfaq. Most of them are covers. If you find live vids, you're odds are much higher of it being authentic. He has decades of hits too so, welcome to the rabbit hole. Haha 🐰

Garth is married to country star and Food Network star Trisha Yearwood. When in public, he calls her Miss Yearwood, and he says I'm Mr Yearwood. They are so cute. At the peak of his career he stepped back to raise his 3 daughters after his divorce. He and Trisha was finally able to be together.

Garth is a legend - and a gentleman. He has stopped performances to call people out and have them removed for obnoxious behavior, especially if a man is mistreating his wife/girlfriend, refusing to continue until security had taken care of it. Once, when he witnessed a man hit the lady with him, he stopped his performance and demanded the man be arrested. Audience members held the man until police got there - while Garth went off on him, condemning and ridiculing any man who would hit a woman. After the man was arrested and removed, Garth continued the performance. At other shows, he has had spectators in wheelchairs lifted onto the stage so that they can really enjoy the show.

Grew up in the '70s and '80s. My parents were divorced and my mom eventually remarried a great guy who taught me so much about life. He was very old school and not really emotional. I remember one conversation I had with my mom where she said that despite that personality, one thing was that he told her he loved her at least once every day and how much that meant to her as a wife. I have remembered that and have done that for my wife every day for the over 26 years we've been married. At I agree, the kids (23 and 20) see that and you can tell the impression it has made on them to hear their mom and dad say they love each other every day.

Beautiful song. While I know Garth Brooks originally wrote and recorded this song, it's not the version that I first heard. That would be Barry Manilow's. Barry liked the song so much that he recorded the song on one of his own albums and regularly started performing the song live in concert. You can understand why. During the 1970's, Barry Manilow was The King of The Romantic Ballads, so, "If Tomorrow Never Comes" was a perfect song for him to sing. It's my favorite recording of this song. Barry really captures the emotion in this song. You both should check it out. You'll love it.

"Actions speak louder than words" is an axiom that I was taught. and it tends to hold true. Garth Brooks sang this song on tour, cheating on his wife at every stop. He did show love to his mother, who died close to the time this song came out, and his daughters. for whom he "retired" to raise after his divorce. So, he is not a total waste. Sweet words can hide a poisonous heart.

That must have been his vocals. I’ve heard him sing on TV. That is a very beautiful song. BG, you have a great husband, certainly, and by expressing himself verbally in that way, it’s rubbing off on your son. My love language is both. I’ve had a couple of great relationships amidst all the dating I did in the past. Why am I single? I’ve just experienced a lot of complex complications in my relationships. Stuff you just couldn’t make up. Long stories, and then, in my teen’s and twenties, I just flat blew several good opportunities. Loved all your conversation after the song played.

It’s early Garth. The song is from his debut album “Garth Brooks”. The album was released in Spring of 1989 while the song came out in the summer. “If Tomorrow Never Comes” was Garth’s 1st ever #1. You mentioned the song “The Dance”. This song, which came out in 1990, was the 4th song to come off this same debut album & it too went to #1.

If you really want to be blown out of the water, listen to a contestant on America's Got Talent named Kevin Skinner singing this song to his wife. He was a poor chicken catcher from Kentucky and after the audience stopped laughing at him, he preceded to shock everyone as he plucked his guitar on a stool as he sang this song. He wound up winning the competition and took home one million dollars.

@@pegatheetoo1437 I read that he went downhill after winning. His wife left him and his attempts to sell albums went flat in sales. Then, he had to seek mental treatments, for I believe involved depression. Perhaps, everyone around him was trying to get money from him and he wound up becoming somewhat of a recluse.

Definitely Garth! I guess I get the protectiveness because of the internet these days. I guess I have struggled in the past to annunciate that I love people, but I grew up in an era and family that didn't "hug" and was more about just taking care of business to keep things going. We started hugging after my Dad had his first heart attack in about 1986 or so. Peace, Love Ladies!!

Although it's sometimes been interpreted as a song about a father's love for his daughter (which is reflected in the music video), Brooks confirmed in his 2017 book, The Anthology Part 1: The First Five Years, that "If Tomorrow Never Comes" is about a husband's love for his wife. He explained: "It's about this guy who wants to make sure his wife knows that if something happens to him, that he did love her. She didn't have to wonder." Thank you for reacting to this 😊

that's they beauty of music and other art forms, the meaning the creator intended for a song or painting to hold does not have to line up with what other people take from it. i love to look at a painting for a long time and just searching my mind to see what meanings i can get from that painting. when i was 13 i had a teacher, she painted a bowl of fruit on a kitchen table and asked the class what it meant, we all had our own ideas. she ended the class by saying she did not put meaning into the painting, she just painted fruit, we put meaning in it. good music does the same, it puts something in front of you that can mean something different to different people or even means different things to one person.

The reason Garth pulled his music from KZfaq was his support of songwriters. Normally when a song is performed publicly the songwriter is financially compensated by paying them a royalty. KZfaq does not pay them a royalty. Because they are not paying the songwriters, and are financially benefitting from product, Garth believes they are treating the songwriters unjustly and does not want to participate in the injustice to the songwriters so he pulled his songs. So that's why Garth's songs are hard to find on KZfaq. He can't control what other people do, so if someone else posts one of his videos, they can be found here on KZfaq.

He started out enough as a humble Country Boy. Then he started going all high-tech hoity toity city-boy freak. This was the first and last song of his I listen to. I never bought any of his albums. My favorite description I heard of about him was from Waylon Jennings, paraphrasing. Garth Brooks looks like a thumb with a hat on it, and he sings like mr. Haney from Green Acres. So if you're not even sure who you going to be listening to or watch and I'm not even going to bother so good luck with all this mess there's no sense in even trying to listen or watch him anymore is there.
