And yet with all this bands number one albums many people would still struggle to name the band members. Or people might hear a solo song from Tom Chaplin and say hey that sounds like that guy from Keane.

I've saw Keane live many times. Great live. There are so many good tracks you could check out of theirs. A Bad Dream, Hamburg Song will give you the chills. Crystal Ball, Bedshaped, Sovereign Light Cafe.

I just heard this song in its entirety yesterday (I’m 67), having only heard snippets in the backgrounds of KZfaq videos. This is the first time I have listened and not broken down in tears, both because of the sheer passion, and the deep meaning and sense of loss and longing in the song.

This song, like many of Keane's music, is so deeply nostalgic. Dealing with the feelings many of us experience as we get older - the feeling of being left behind with our desire for simpler times.

As someone who still struggles with depression and loneliness I’ve always associated the song with the loss of childhood and the desperation to get the feeling of those days of joy and optimism back that inevitably become lost as you enter adulthood.

Keane are genuinely one of the most human bands around at the moment, the level of humanity in their songs is just so restoring for me, and it puts them above most other acts, for me at least. Shame critics hated them for being too human and “wearing their hearts on their sleeves”. Underrated and under-appreciated band, man! You should give Is It Any Wonder a listen, that’s a song with ENERGY in spades

So Phenomenal we actually asked to go and went straight down to the VIP section of the concert because we were only few in the Gen Ad Section, BEST NIGHT OF MY LIFE! Tim Rice-Oxley wrote this song. Its based on the band's difficulties in getting noticed in London. So on the verge of giving up. They all returned back to their home town Battle in Hastings. The song references them going back, visiting all the places they used to play. The result was this masterpiece.

Yes, their original album, Hopes and Fears was recorded without using any guitars. It was amazingly produced.

Yes!!!! Travis are my favourite band. I first saw Keane in their very early days as the support band for Travis in Aberdeen. Really blew me away. Never seen such a great support band since. Just so good even then.

Keane are a local band to myself, so when they started to release their songs - it was an enormous sense of local pride that they were so good. I remember listening to the whole album over and over at the time, but for some reason as time goes on I haven't heard this song in ages! I don't know if it is a reflection of the past year or so but I found myself in tears! The power of music! Thank you for this and please add Bedshaped to your Playlist 🥰

Great to see this one! I didn't think I liked "piano rock," but Coldplay and Keane proved me wrong over the years. This is one of Keane's best; they have several other standouts as well. Definitely give "Everybody's Changing" a try - very emotional song.

Yes, Tom Chaplin has a beautiful voice. I think it has actually improved with time, and recent videos show that.The distinctive piano sound is Tim Rice-Oxley playing the fantastic Yamaha CP70 electric grand piano. Bend and Break is another great Keane song. Also, Bedshaped.

If you want to hear how amazing Tom Chaplin (lead singer) is singing live, check out a performance where he joins Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor on stage to sing Queen's 'It's a Hard Life'. Fantastic band, I used to manage a charity shop and we would check CDs in the back room and a young volunteer said to me "You will love this band" and she was so right.... Stunning...

So underappreciated!!! Hopes and Fears is a perfect album. My "rewind" songs are Your Eyes Open and Bend & Break but every song is unique and beautiful!!

He definately has a beautiful voice. I'd recommend Bedshaped, Everybodys Changing or Perfect Symmetry. All great songs with soaring vocals 👍

It was great to watch you get into this sweet wonderful song. And then get so taken by it that your head bobbing kind of fell back and you just said “wow” near the end when he goes into the “ooo-ooo-oooh....” Beautiful!

Fran Healy's grandad on his mums side and my grandad on my dads side were brothers, that makes Fran a 2nd cousin...never met him though, then again i have loads of family i have never met.....their album 'the man who' has a hidden bonus track on the CD, after the last songs finishes let the cd continue to play for about 6 minutes and the bonus track comes on....i warn you though its full of bad language....if you already know this fact then ignore my comment.

Great song, and as others have said, Everybody’s changing is another great one of theirs. I also suggest you take a look at Stephen Fretwell....his song ‘Run’ is a classic as well
