Yeah, this is a very emotional song.. Sebastian Bach wrote the lyrics to this song about his friend Steven Adler, who was the original drummer for Guns N' Roses. Adler had a severe heroin addiction. Which eventually led to him being fired from GnR.

I was OBSESSED with this song summer of 1991. I listened to it repeatedly and always at a high volume which probably annoyed my parents. Even funnier: I had this on cassette (because I didn't have a CD player yet) so I had to keep rewinding it in order to keep listening to it.

Thank you for this reaction this is one of my all time favorite songs all around. I lost the love of my life to drug addiction and this song hits real hard. Sebastian's passion exploded in this song as it was written as someone else mentioned for his good friend Steven Adler!! This song definitely invokes emotion with every word he sings.

You should do monkey business, that’s my favorite song by them. I got to see them live 6 months ago. Or so. There was maybe 80 people there and my wife and I were the only people there in our 20’s. We kept getting asked by everyone what we were doing there lol. My favorite hair metal band for sure

Sebastian is one of the craziest frontman of all metal bands. Check out the "bottle incident" on KZfaq from 1989 during their live performance of Piece of Me in Springfield MA. He actually ends up being arrested. But he's still the coolest.

Love Skid Row!! Sebastian Bach's voice is crazy. Seen them several times in concert and they are so good live as well. Their songs Youth Gone Wild and Slave To The Grind are both really good also. Great reaction!! 🙂

Sebastian said in an interview that he had four years of bel canto (operatic) vocal training before he joined Skid Row. He knows how to sing properly, and is very diligent in caring for his voice. His family wanted to pay to send him to Julliard for continued musical training, but he opted not to go because he wanted to be a rock singer. He screams and sings with lots of distortion in his voice in this song, but notice the very last note he sings here. It’s clean and powerful and he shows you his capability of sounding like an opera singer. He used that skill a lot in the roles he played on Broadway. Check him out singing “This is the Moment” on KZfaq. Also, Scotti Hill’s guitar playing is phenomenal here.

I them on their first tour at a bar. I could have untied Sebastian's shoes; he was 2 feet away and only 3 feet up on stage. The audio for that show is on KZfaq. The Marquee in Westminster CA '87. They were opening for Bon Jovi on a Friday and Sunday, so they played a bar in between shows.

This song is written about the original drummer from guns and roses who couldn't beat his addiction. Guns and roses and skid row toured together for 2 years and so the lead singer became good friends with the drummer from guns n' roses. That's what this song's about

There are great frontmen that are ok singers there are great singers who were ok frontmen during this era but I have to say NOBODY could touch Bash's vocal ability in the 80s and 90s! There might have been a few that stood out from the crowd because they were great singers with power and control but this guy was a Freak!!! I'm freaking 48 years old and still get blown away when this guy belts it out.

Quick sand Jesus should be the next skid row song. Just as good as wasted time. Then if you want something with a little kick do monkey business or slave to the grind from the album slave to the grind. It was the first metal album to go number1 on the billboard chart. Yeah its a beautiful song but i cant feel it. Its so juvenile and poorly sung because of his declining voice and the era it was made in aint cutting it. Rock isnt or wasnt good 93-present.

Do yourself a favor and check out Alter Bridge, only newer band that can hang with this type old school talent. Good starter is "Blackbird" live from Wembly, powerful song with emotion, amazing vocals and overall band talent.
