First things, I spent 5 years in Korea so let me break down how to pronounce her name, The Kim part is easy but the So-hyang part should be spoken as a single word. "So" has a long "o" sound followed by a light puffy "h" sound pushed from the back of the throat followed without a pause into a classic "y" sound sliding into a "ang" as in the angst! Most of the other people have covered other details but So-hyang in the mid 90s started off in a family church band, married the drummer at 20 and almost immediately found she had ovarian cancer. After a painful treatment she was cured but infertile, she credits God for saving her and showing her purpose in life! After being discovered by some recording industry types her abilities were quickly known by many and she was offered big money to sign by big labels, she turned them down because she believes God spared her to use her voice to comfort others and help relieve their burdens. There are many great videos of her doing many different styles, you haven't even began yet to see what she is capable of! She is a master of the mixed voice of head and chest. She also arranges all of her own music. She writes musicals, music, novels and childrens stories!
