Allen was probably still going 10 minutes after the fade out lol. When Skynyrd played the Knebworth Festival in '76 Ronnie had to go out and reel Allen and the guys in from the end of the stage. Allen would probably go on for 20 minutes if Ronnie let him.

That was my favorite part of this reaction too! I was a single Mom with 5 kids and 4, teenagers and early adults. When they pushed me too far, I went into my bedroom , locked the door and turned on Freebird full blast! And they KNEW to leave me alone! I had had enough and the long guitar solo was to release the frustration! I played it until all that was gone! Now they are all grown ! And I do fly a Freebird!

Thank You for reacting to this song. It was my Dad’s favorite song. When we went to see them live in 2012, they started playing the guitar solo, and I looked beside me to see my dad with a beer in one hand and tears streaming down his face rocking the air guitar. One of my favorite memories in life. Unfortunately, just 5 years later, he died, and at his funeral, as promised, Free Bird was played.

People who are willing to better themselves pretty much have the same aspersions, a better life for their children than they had! I started in textiles!! One step up from hell!! Problem is it's all millions of southerners ever knew, and they snatched it right out from under them! Thriving community's turned into slums. Noone cared about it till it started happening in places like Detroit!!!

Since a small child my dad ALWAYS sang this to me.. it was our song in 2013 my dad committed suicide and it wasn't until losing him that way this song hit me completely different then when I was growing up. I now hear these words as my dad saying goodbye to his only daughter (child). It's how I came to forgive him for leaving me and why I know he is now free! I have an eagle shedding a year tattooed on my leg for my dad because of this song!

@@austinglass1916 we were fortunate to have been young in the ‘70s when it was real music. No lip syncing, no auto tune. We saw most of the greats here in the south. We grew up with the “Toy Factory” that later became The Marshall Tucker Band. I played foosball with the band, but didn’t know it was them, nor did they know me. It was more like hey you want to play? Me, sure. Alice cooper gave a weird but unforgettable concert. Ted Nugent, ZZ Top, just to mention a few. That is the unfortunate thing of being young in the ‘70’s......you have a lot of memory loss 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 but what you remember was great!

I'm an old rocker from way back when so allow me to say this. I'm happy to see the younger generation appreciate the music I grew up with. Not many groups of today's music come close to old rock and roll from the sixties through the eighties. Today's music either has good music and bad lyrics or great lyrics and bad music. Few achieve both. Most cannot put an album together that is good all the way through. Keep listening to the old stuff you won't be disappointed. It's great too see your reaction to when music was good!

This is my first time watching you. I am 69, and I grew up on Lynard Skynard. Sadly, the 3 main members died in a private plane crash, but they made a lot of great music. But if you think that blew your mind, you need to hear Pentatonix's Hallelujah. They are 4 men and 1 women. They are an acapella group, and I know you're thinking-what, acapella, but yo0u have never heard anything like this, and I promise there are no background tracks or special effects, except for reverb in their microphones. This video got over 600 million views. There were two versions of this song. A shorter 'air play' version and the "long" version. Radio DJ's used to put on the "long" version of this song if they had to do things like use the restroom or let the pizza guy in the side door. I was the pizza guy, that's how I know. We used to make the "DJ pie" right before closing, then count out and head over to the station after hours.
