The best thing about Eminem albums is they all sound different from each other, including Ems flow and voice

He could get away with it at first because nobody knew who he was when he recorded it... but once he started selling albums, people freaked the fuck out.. his concerts were protested at, he was constantly in the news for any little thing he did, and his lyrics were analyzed and attacked from every angle.. it only made him go harder on the next album. Every time someone attacks him, he responds and destroys them.. whether it's the media, parents, or other rappers, Eminem always has a response. He's the most fearless rapper in the history of hip hop. And not just because of his lyrics.. because he's not afraid to rap in any style, make fun of himself, sing his own hooks even though he's not a great singer.. there's a reason he's had this crazy longevity, it's because he's one of the best to ever do it, and he's always been 100% genuine.

For the time yeah, It did not age to well. He should bring it to new life because the whole idea was nice. His voice acting was dope aswell and i remember xzibit did a voice aswell when he was in jail. Em should have done more with it. Easy for him, he can record the voices at his house .

Yep. In the 90s and early 00s it was the satanic panic of the Christian right trying to cancel him. Today, it's gen Z. He's proof that cancel culture is bullshit for anyone famous, unless they actually commit crimes

I was a white teen living in Denmark. We had all heard rap occasionally on the radio and MTV, but Denmark was a rock and roll country back when. Suddenly, Eminem was in rotation. Not a lot, but enough to get the kids interested in grappling an album. For years, every middle school kid was rocking the short white hair. The controversies kept Em as and underdog, the humor had everybody rolling and the crazy shit he said opened a needed window for the kids to talk about mental illness, drugs and bullying. Was it because Em is white? Sure, that played a part. But most of all he was hella relatable in his political incorrectness.
@omegashinra7672
@omegashinra7672 Жыл бұрын
You're definitely underplaying how much him being White had an affect on how his career went. Eminem himself says in multiple songs, especially White America, that him being white opened up everything for him and helped him get away with tonnes of stuff no one else in the scene would have.

It was same in 90s as today there just wasn't a way for everyday people to voice their opinion. Tons of rap artists restricted to select venues or arrested. Eminem was banned , sued, fined protested , The same with Marylin Manson & ,many other groups. Just a different type of reaction. Having said that, NO DOUBT shit was different lol

Great video man. I agree that he wouldn't get away with these lyrics now, but he was always pushing the bar of what you couldn't and shouldn't say. Also this is loosely based on real life, he did in fact get beaten by a bully (that later sued him and lost) enough that he went into a coma, and his mother used to feed him prescription pills because she was an addict, he later in his life apologized to her because he really goes in some songs (cleanings out my closet/ my mom). Great reaction man, even if I don't agree 100 percent with everything it's still cool to see different opinions and reactions.

He really only gets better the further you go. It’s like he hits his peak on The Eminem Show, has a backslide with Encore, then he becomes a new rapper. Relapse is technically amazing, but controversial sonically. You’ll either love the way or sounds or you’ll hate it. But it’s incredible writing. Recovery is really good but more commercial/pop-y. But not necessarily in a bad way MMLP2 begins a new era IMO. His writing gets significantly more technical (better imo) from 2013 until present day

Brain damage is true, he was put in special class as a kid and people thought he was on drugs, and D'Angelo Bailey nearly killed eminem in school. It caused brain damage that took a long time to recover from, he almost died. He even tried suing eminem for 'defamation' the song Brain damage came out...He also said it ruined his image as a rapper. He cant rap lol. the judge rap better, she made a rap to tell the guy suing how dumb he was, It's online you can find the transcript.
