She definitely went to the bookstore hoping there was a chance of regaining what she'd lost. Luckily, so did he. The whole film is just them both trying to work out if the other person still feels the same way they do, dropping hints, revealing things slowly just in case. Luckily for them, they're again both in the exact same place. As Nina Simone sings at the end, "Just in time, you found me just in time"

Maybe one of the best endings to a film ever.

I grew up with the characters and watched each installment when they came out. That way, I lived the years in between each one just like the characters and could relate to the different feelings at each life stage. Before Sunrise has its particular charm in its depiction of spontaneous youth experience. Before Sunset feels more substantial and the 'real time' aspect of the movie really makes it work. The stakes are higher and the consequence of time passing since their first encounter adds weight to this. So real, authentic, meaningful, relatable and enjoyable. One of the best films this century.

I love the first but this is my favorite of the trilogy!

When I first saw this movie, I didn't like it. Mainly cause everything about it felt too real. Especially now that I'm the same age as Jesse and Celine. 'Sunrise' had that hopefulness and idealism that captured the feeling of connecting deeply with someone during your twenties. In romance, it perfectly captured that airy, floaty, up-in-the-air feeling. 'Sunset' feels like a chokehold, like you're gasping for air cause of their current situation. Great film, but i always have a hard time watching it cause of how relatable it is. And what Celine said about believing you'd always meet people when you were younger and then realizing as you get older they only happen a few times? That still hits me so hard every time I hear it.

I usually like your reactions, but I kind of hated this one. You talked too much in moments that need silence and listening, annoyed me a little bit. :( But you're great, it's just a commentary

Avoid the next one, Before Midnight. By then its stale forced and its reduced to lame tropes (Ethan Hawk is now some insufferable "cool dad", Celine is now the put upon mother) and a bunch of multiculti snobs gathered around a table pontificating endlessly about pretentious platitudes at a private home in Greece..... It sucks
