If you go back and watch Saw 2 actually on the part where Jigsaw is explaining to the guy with the key in his eye about the trap. They show a second of the doctor who placed the key walking and he has a pronounced limp. I never noticed that til after I saw this movie and watched Saw 2 again later and it was amazing.

The bizarre thing is I saw in the Comment Section for Saw 2 on IMDb after its release how people after watching the movie in theaters were speculating the person doing the surgery was in fact Dr. Gordon since they noticed the limp. The discussion may still be there, I don't know for certain. I also heard a story that somone asked Cary Elwes in person post Saw 1 but pre Saw 7 about the fate of his character. Not sure if it was a random person or part of an official interview. His reaponse was akin to "He cut his fucking foot off. What do you think happened?" After Saw 7, Elwes apparently said it was his own decision to not return to the franchise until the last entry then have the writers come up with a reason for his absence. There were supposed to be 8 films from what I read. They combined elements from 8 into 7 from 6 not doing well financially. I blame that on Paranormal Activity though, taking away attention. While watching the first entry from that series, I got so bored I started reading the newspaper while the rest played out. Sorry for babbling so long, as well. It's just a bad habit I have.

@furydeath we all speculated, but if you listen to the directors commentary on the dvds, they shoot that down for multiple movies. At one the director said he cut his foot off with a belt for a tourniquet and drug himself through hallways. He's dead, or something to that effect.

Hoffman is infuriating as a villain, you want him to be put into a game with no odds of escaping and him to suffer till the end. But the irony of it is he has the strongest survival instinct of all of the people in the franchise. Like the dude broke his hand and rip his cheek to escape the RBT v2. Then when trapped by Gordon immediately upon seeing him went for the hacksaw, like would have done the deed to escape, which makes him i think more dangerous than John, like the man will stop at nothing to live and be this executioner of his sicked fucked up justice.

I would love to see a sequel to Jigsaw where maybe a younger Eleanor was finding the Bathroom game then stumbled across Hoffman and helped him escape unaware of who he really is. Okay, so the dude that wrote Saw, Adam, from the first movie, actually wrote Saw 3 as the final movie. Lionsgate wanted more, so he added some small things like the tape with wax into the script. If you ask him today, he has no idea who Hoffman is, lol. Saw 3D, was actually originally planned on being two movies, Saw 7 and 8, but 6 did bad so they kind of mashed Saw 7 and 8 together. Gordan returning would have been the stinger/end of 7. Hoffman is kidnapped by 3 people in pig masks, ine of which is revealed to be Gordon. The other two people were supposed to be the two guys from the public trap at the start of the movie. They originally wanted to end Saw (8) with a montage of all the people from the survivor meetings implying that even eithout John and Hoffman, Jigsaws message and ideals have spread making the whole thing have a kind of cult vibe to it. I've also noticed that Saw 3D has a lot of nipple in it. Like ffs, you can see the nipple of the girl from the public trap. It kindof feels like the Saw movie Dennis Reynolds would write.... actually, now that I think about it. I woukd love to see Tobias from Arrested Development in a Saw game. It would just be so goofy.

Am I the only one that liked Hoffman? I'm glad he was left in the bathroom at the end but I enjoyed him the entire series. I also liked Amanda, even after Saw 3 when she failed the test. Only to learn later that Hoffman made her fail the test so she's back on the "good" side. The main game with this hook guy seemed the lamest to me out of all the movies and yeah his wife did nothing wrong. having Gordon back was great. I don't know if that was planed from the start but I like how they made it seem like it was since they inferred Gordon was the one doing all the medical stuff for him. Overall I would say I liked 1, 2, 5, 4, 6, 3 in that order. Glad you enjoyed them. now watch ARCANE!

Hey, it's Todd from the first Final Destination. He grew up fast. Hoffman is such a badass villain. I remember watching these movies and I hated Hoffman because he's such an intelligent villain. Now I appreciate it all and Hoffman's my favorite apprentice. To me, he is the most interesting character in the franchise besides John Kramer. He's what kept me invested in the later movies because he became the big bad. What a way to end the franchise but the fact of the matter is, Hoffman could still be alive. The Hoffman actor even stated that Hoffman is definitely still alive. I mean he's a cockroach, you can't kill him lol.

Gordon's "game over" was closest to Jigsaw's "game over" by the sound of it. and as you can see, Gordon's group was of 3 people. the only group of Cramer's accomplices been shown to actually be a group. even tho Hoffman and Amanda knows about each other, they were never a group and was in the dark about what they doing for Cramer. have no idea what that mean cause its the last movie about an actual Cramer, not 2 bs movies that was produced after, but still interesting fact for me )

Aside from smaller qualms like the pink blood (which unfortunately ruins the reverse bear trap FINALLY going off) this entry just feels a lot more mean spirited than the others. I know that seems like a dumb thing to say about films that are regarded as 'torture porn' (a label I do not agree with) but it just does. I think this is mostly due to the way women are treated throughout, like it feels super misogynist when I take a step back. This may sound like a knee-jerk reaction but I'm a massive horror fan and rarely use this word to describe a film even if that's how it's viewed within the wider culture (American Psycho, I Spit on Your Grave, etc...). Saw has always felt very equal opportunity to me but this one is probably most deserving of the TP label for several reasons: 1. Obviously the Joyce thing is number 1. It's genuinely horrific (not in a fun way) and was really quite upsetting upon first viewing as it was completely outside of the usual MO, even with Hoff in charge. 2. The opening (which I can barely take seriously) is so cartoonish and this lady is ridiculous, it really feels like a writer got cheated on and this was his sick revenger fantasy. It reads SO weird to me. 3. The traps are BOMB and I wouldn't want to take them out but it rubs me the wrong way that the women seem to get some of the most horrific side-character deaths in the whole franchise (hook in throat + pierced through eyes and mouth). Again I love these traps but it feels odd when that man just gets hung like okay?? 4. Jill being the one to be reverse bear trapped. Okay so this one is less valid than the other three because it super fits her and Hoff's arc and neatly ties the 7 films together by prompting Gordon to act on Kramer's wish to protect Jill (which is actually super sweet). I don't think I would have any problem with this if it wasn't accompanied by points 1-3 but unfortunately it is and it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I agree. This movie seemed to have a real chip on its shoulder for women. Like Joyce is punished for TRUSTING HER HUSBAND??? Really???? The most horrifying traps being given to women, and both Jill’s dream trap and Dina’s trap seeming weirdly sexual? Like did we really need Dina’s boobs to be pulled more and more out of her shirt before she died?

Another thing I wanted to point out since you didn't seem to remember some of those people at the Jigsaw Survivor Group. Mallick, the dude from 5 who had to saw his hand in half in the ending, was the same dude who had the arm cast on. Tara, the wife and mom from 6 was there. Addy, the middle aged woman in the hanging room trap was there. Emily, one of the women that escaped the carousel in 6 was there. Last but not least, Ryan and Brad from the mall trap in this one as well as Gordon was there at the meeting too. The others I'm not familiar with.

7 is often viewed as the worse film in the series and its not hard to understand why. Such as the pink-ish blood, which I still to this day cannot stand! Despite that, 7 does have its moments. Also still mad that Joyce and Jill died and that Gordon had such a small ass role in this movie. With that being said, it was also nice to see Linkin Park's Chester Bennington in a Saw movie though! Edit: Simone had NO right to berate and talk down on Sidney at that Jigsaw Survivor Group meeting the way she did. Had it not been for Jigsaw and Hoffman testing her, she and her fat boy Eddie would STILL be out there being predators and ripping people off. Simone should be grateful that she's even still breathing and alive with one arm at all!

While enjoying these films along with you, I did think back to the first Saw film, Dr. Gordon and Adam - Adam was hired to spy on and take photographs of Gordon. Was that worth being put in a trap/game? Seems pretty harmless compared to a lot of other victims. Also found out that the dude that plays Adam - Leigh Whannell - actually wrote the original Saw film! However, that's definitely something John would have done. In saw 6 if William didn't make it to the end of his test he would never see his sister again, though she was in the wrong somewhat for sensationalising the news stories about Jigsaw. Even in saw 1, Lawrence failed his test and so his punishment was his wife and daughter were going to be killed, despite the fact he was the one cheating and betraying their trust. It's not a new thing for John to make the consequence of failure the death of a loved one

I actually really like Hoffman, but I think this movie really hurt his character. They made him into a murderer before the Jigsaw stuff, which, for me, makes his descent into becoming a killer not as strong. I liked the idea of him avenging his sister and being blackmailed into being an apprentice and slowly turning from a mourning yet decent person to a serial killer. Idk, that scene of him killing that homeless man has always bothered me. Another thing. I wish they’d held off and only showed Gordon at the end of the movie. Would have been a much more effective twist imo

Might be an unpopular opinion but I hate that Dr. Gordon becomes an apprentice of jigsaw. Not only has it been done twice already but it was done better with Amanda and Hoffman because it was more believable that they would become followers of jigsaw. Apparently Gordon was able to just forget that John had Zep kidnap his wife and child and they would have died if Alison hadn’t managed to escape. Also if you had been to any Saw message boards after the first movie was released people were predicting Gordon would be a follower of jigsaw after the second movie . A more interesting idea would have been Gordon becoming a double agent. Agreeing to work for jigsaw but was secretly working behind the scenes to find all of jigsaw apprentices, and stop the jigsaw legacy.

In the last movie (Saw VI), agent Perez mentioned that the jigsaw piece cut out from the recent victims are jaggedly taken out, unlike the previous victim of Jigsaw. This hint leads them to Seth which leads them to the path of investigating the tapes (and eventually getting killed but let's not talk about that). But that "throwaway comment" is a hint to this movie's reveal. The jigsaw pieces were taken out with surgical precision from previous Jigsaw players/victims because it was Dr. Gordon who took those out.
@KrystalTwilight
@KrystalTwilight 9 ай бұрын
imma have to disagree with this, because Jigsaw was removing those pieces since day one, right? and only two victims was ever done without a surgical precision. which would take Dr. Gordon out of the picture in the first pieces. though, this could leave room for Logan from JigSaw, since he was apparentally John's first apprentice and in the very first game and he himself would have surgical precision.

As a KZfaqr, I would like to advise you to apply blur to these bloody frames in the future or make them pixelated and black-and-white. I love watching your reactions to the saw, as for me these are the most suitable films for video reactions. Sorry for possible mistakes in the text, I don't know much English)

I've always found this to be the most misogynistic entry in the Saw series. the violence in this one is a bit more sexualized (can see the nips of the girl in the public trap, the fishhook trap involves yanking something out of a woman's throat), and the "WHY COULDN'T YOU JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP" in that trap in particular always rubbed me the wrong way (as if it's easy to do so when there's a hook in your stomach?). dropping the c-bomb on Jill before ruthlessly murdering her, and then of course, the poor woman at the end... she didn't deserve to die in a brazen fucking bull for the crime of believing a man's lies. all in all, not thrilled with how the female characters were treated in this movie compared to their far more equal treatment as victims in every other entry in the series. but! I'm glad you enjoyed, as I do still like this movie. off to watch your Jigsaw reaction now!

I don't think everyone catches it. the game isn't being run by hoffman. He's busy dealing with jill and the previous movie was the last of kramers games for him (kinda sad he didn't get to do his own). so the "voice changer" isn't for hoffman. kinda wish we HAD gotten hoffman running his own games though. I would have liked jill to survive. but then i would have liked amanda to survive too. can't always get what we want. and i agree i thought killing joice but letting her husband live was the dumbest of options. maybe if she had been the one to talk him into it i'd feel different. but i've never liked when someone is just a victim of a trap and not a participant.

"She believed in your message, despite its dishonest beginnings" means she knew on some level that he was a liar, so she did do something wrong, she's not completely innocent. And as I said to someone else, Hoffman is the one who actually set up the trap. His trap language is all over all of these tbh.
@brianlucero7656
@brianlucero7656 6 ай бұрын
I think its referring to him. He's message of overcoming what happened to him and seeing the light in it, was a good message. Inspirational even, and she believed it, but she had no idea bc there was a team of people making sure it all seemed genuine. That's why they pushed so much for him to thank her, and she looks kinda uncomfortable of being in front of a camera, in front of so many people. She was the innocent person in his game and I guess losing her for being a liar is his punishment, John or Hoffman would have known if she knew it was all a lie. It was tragic to see her die, but being Hoffman the one that set the game up, you can understand why she did. If John would have planned the game, he probably would have to sacrifice himself or.something like that to save her, or cut something off maybe.

Also I have to agree. I think Hoffman was not the right choice. (Even thou I’m still in love with the franchise) I think what they did wrong wasn’t killing John in the 3rd. But at the end of 2 when Amanda said she would carry on johns work. That’s what they should have done. I think they really messed up killing her. She had so much more potential for the movies. At least let her work thru 4 and 5 or somthing. That’s my only gripe about the franchise fr. Wasted Amanda potential. Hopefully she’s in saw x for prequel stuff
