My quarter gallon fish bowl with three-and-a-half betta in it would definitely be an 11 out of 10. I didn't submit because I didn't want to embarrass you all.

Pffft my cup with 7 and three quarter Betta fish in it far surpasses your miserable "bowl" if you could even call it that. It even comes with natural UV light and a lack of substrate and decorations prevent them from injury 💪😎 Edit: they died

Palladium’s are good for some amphibians and reptiles too and they can be big enough to include fish

I should've submitted the photo I have from college with a catfish in a trash can to see if I could get a 1 (said catfish was found in the middle of a sidewalk during a rainstorm, several hundred feet from any body of water, and was collected using an empty trash can before being given to someone with a large aquarium)

Hi, im the tank from 7:30 i wanted to say: the background stops there becouse the filter is in the way, it is mounted in the corner like a solid black cube, the filter can be slided out of the top for maintainence. So the background stops where the filter begins. You did give me a 6 last time, so a 7 is a solid improvement. Looking at the rest of the tanks compared to mine im agreeing with a 7. Ty for rating my tank :)

That filter on that saltwater tank is really nice. I owned a small saltwater tank for like a year and always wished to have a great filter for it.

The red fish is a flame angel. The crazy contraption is the sump of the tank, like a open canister filter so we can cram more stuff in it. And I just bought a file fish yesterday lol. They are good utilitarian fish they eat aptasia ( tiny ananomes) they are a nussesence in reefs because they sting corals and they spread all over the tank.

Yeah file fish are great for aptasia, I had an outbreak in my reeftank tried perppermint shrimp and aptasia x but couldn't get rid of it, but as soon as I got a filefish it took care of the problem. Was a weird fish though, like to sit still for long period of time with it's tail bent around like a hook. Had it for a couple year before I moved house and donated it to a freind. My favourite fish I had was a Mandarin Dragonet that thing was gorgeous!

@kingdjinn1835 yea my file fish I'd odd I'm always loosing him in the tank only for him to be staring at me in the front corner of the tank swimming vertical yet still. Mandarin golbys are majestic from their color to the day the seem to just float in the water always looking 👀

At the 13:30 mark that Stripey is going to go crazy. They're very hardy, but are among the fastest swimmers I've ever kept and need A LOT of room.

You need to cut the reef tanks some slack. They need the blue light. And if u see a reef tank that looks decent it took a ton of work.

@AVNJ The angelfish you liked at around 17:30 is a Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula). It's most common in the tropical Central Pacific, so I don't like your chances of it showing up in Jersey. :P

Lol i have build up on my aquarium and its fresh water😅. I use high in calcium well water so i get a lot of lime scale type build up due to evaporation.

Filefish are fairly common in saltwater. They're useful since they eat pest anemones.

The "sucker fish" in the betta tank is a Chinese algae eater. They get huge and eat fish when they get larger.

They'll suck on the slime coat of the other fish when they're deprived of protein as they get older, that's how they kill other fish, the way their mouths are shaoed makes it impossible to eat other fish with the exception of fry.

... Dude. Filefish are one of the more common saltwater fish kept. The aren't usually 'reef-safe', so they aren't shown off in the big flashy tanks, and sometimes kept im refugariums in the sump systems for larger tanks. They are good at keeping many of the invasive pests of the trade under control.

To be honest I don't really see AVNJ's problem with the blue tangs, TBH they are my favourite saltwater fish alogn with the yellow tanga dn copperband butterflyfish and yed while they are overrated I personally had no problem with them so far.

Idk how you prefer freshwater over saltwater. I guarantee if you set up a reef tank you would never go back to freshwater. I had freshwater for 7 years then set up a reef tank and haven’t even considered doing a freshwater tank ever since

People have preferences! I prefer Freshwater over Saltwater as well, but I think both are really pretty. It's just a matter of preference

putting tropical fish with cold water feces-emitters and likely not cycled and 100000% overstocked and too small and then the fact they’re comets not like fancies or something brings it down more Rip every living organism in there I wish them luck post on the bad aquariums Reddit server Not intentionally being like rude or something but like do research or something
