It was interesting to see what other people do with their fish tanks. This was a fun video. I have two that are heavily planted, and they look natural but I don't use CO2, so my planted tank isn't quite like the one you showed with all the red plants. I think some people are more into plant scaping than the actual fish. That's fun too!

I have come across an insane discovery of an abundance of bull trout in idaho. I drove 50 miles out from civilization in the mountains and found them down in a low wetland creek. Supposedly endangered and highly protected I was seeing multiple trout over 30 inches

@@mimisezlol they know about them it’s just not common knowledge knowing where to find them. It was more so a discovery for me because you have to go so far into the mountains to find them.

I’ve gotta say while I don’t mind a basic out-of-ten scale, I prefer a variation where it can be as high as a 15, as follows: 0 - one of the worst you have seen 5 - meh 10 - very good, nothing wrong with it 15 - the best you have seen For starters, this system is more diverse lending to a bit more nuance with using “.1” which you could use as well if you really wanted to. It also allows you to note things that are exceptional, with 11-15, which is similar to an “S tier” which stands out as it is above and beyond what is normally expected. Another reason for this system is it doesn’t make 10 feel like perfection (and realistically nothing is truly perfect), and even 15 isn’t “perfection” because you have gone beyond 10 so who is to say you couldn’t go beyond 15. At least that is what I think. Just wanted to share a thought. ❤❤❤ :3🤭

its really easy to get started! but a word of caution: id let the tank cycle (running treated water) for atleast two weeks and doing a chemical test to ensure that the ph levels and other are safe. if you can't wait, theres something called "quickstart" which pretreats your water, but i really recommend waiting atleast a week before putting in fish.

Unrelated to the video, but some kids found a crayfish by a local stream today, and I stopped to look at it and chat with them as I was coming back from walking my dog. It was only a small one, but really cool regardless.

Hopefully will submit soon I have a reef tank starting up after cycling for 3 months just got coral in it and gonna wait for them to grow a bit before adding fish

You don't need to cycle for 3 months for coral. You can add coral in day one and it rarely takes longer than a couple weeks to cycle for fish. Be careful what info you take for reefing because that is very, very, very old school thinking not backed up by any science.

I'm working on a tank for my son's Axolotl; I'll submit it when its done. He wants floating islands like in the new Zelda Tears of the Kingdom game so I've got sculpted islands out of styrofoam and plaster; then I'll paint them with acrylic and put on tiny trees of wire and sponge, then seal them with a waterproof acrylic sealer.

That last tank’s owner should move their tank asap, overhangs cause disproportionate weight distribution that can bust seams and shatter the tank.

Dying plant dude. You need lights natural light is generally not used for tanks. Get like a dee led 30 or something it can be attached just above the water line with its suction cups and should provide ample light for low light plants

I work in a petstore and a lot of the glowfish we get are just straight up deformed with a spine that looks more like a Z than what it's suppose to. It's horrible. I wish pet stores just didn't sell live animals.

I believe you generally remove the Tannins from driftwood and such by soaking them in boiling water a couple of times before they go into a tank. Also be careful because some fish prefer tannin water while others wouldn't cope as well.

I still gotta add some more plants to a few of them, but I can send pictures of at least two setups, my 75-gal fancy goldfish and my 10-gal brownwater setup (I haven't decided which fish I want to put in there yet).

I can understand disqualifying retile tanks, as that is not the kind of thing you're intending to judge, but I think it is unfair to disqualify the Axolotl tank for not having fish when you gave the highest rating to a tank that did not have any fish. If a tank doesn't have fish in it, then it really isn't a fish tank, just an underwater plant tank and in my opinion should be disqualified. Maybe clearer criteria for what constitutes a fish tank are needed. This is only my opinion though.

while i know it's best for an axolotl, it would probably still get a really low score if he ignored hte animal in there because the one tank clearly took TONS of effort to maintain those plants whereas your average axolotl is minimal substrate + random objects lol
