New recipe suggestion: an “all surf, no turf” super burrito...an all seafood caught & foraged (including mussels, limpet, uni, crabs, fish) w/ your salt water rice, some foraged herbs, seaweed, and of course avocado 🥑, your choice of additional ingredients (like pico de gallo, hotsauce, cheese, lime) wrapped in a pillowy, slightly buttered tortilla. All prepared the Fisherman’s Life way! 👍🏽

For the fish, do exactly what you did here, but add some cajun seasoning to the fish as well, then form the fish into a tight ball and press down to shape into a patty. Spend just a little more time to shape and form this patty into something solid. Then put the fish through an egg and panko dip. This should help keep it together better and form a more crispy outside. Use the sourdough you were going to originally, and toast with less butter. When the fish is done, add a squeeze of lemon juice, the avocado, and some of your favorite hot sauce on top. For bonus points, get a dry cole slaw and add just a little bit of oil and tarter sauce, just enough to coat but not enough to make it too wet/saucy, and add a little underneath the fish. You'll have the light/fresh/tang from the slaw, the crunch/fresh/flavor from the fish meat, acidity/zest/aromatics from the lemon, earthy/creaminess from the avocado, spice/vinegar from the hot sauce, and the crisp/butteriness from the toasted sourdough. I just ate and I'm hungry.

That much urchin is upsetting. After the starfish plague and the abalone red tide they’re eating all the kelp and destroying near shore habitat. You can also see how they ripped up all that eel grass which is the nursery for everything that lays eggs near shore.

Awesome video, once again only Matts can take a almost Skunk video and make it entertaining and motivating!!! How’s the ankle Bro? I ask because I think some of us old school Fisherman’s Life Subs need to hear that warning horn on the jetty again!!! We haven’t heard it in a long time!!! That would be nice to see some Bobber rigging from the jetty and maybe a lil camera action!!! But only if you think you can do it safely on your injury cause climbing cliffs and walking on wet stones are two different disciplines!!! But anyway thanks for the awesome content as usual!!! Tight Lines!!!

There is a lil technique that i love using while fishing near rocks and boulders that saved me a loot of lures in the years. You wanna try to make your lure "bounce" a short way back underwater, because usually the lure is only slightly stuck in a hole between two rocks. So you grab the line with your weak hand and build quite a bit of tention, then you take your stronger hand and act like you would play a plucking instrument, but really aggressively. Do not be afraid to put high pressure on the line while doing this. After you let the lue "bounce", i would say you can get the lure back in maybe 60 - 70 percent of the time. I hope i could help somebody with this poorly written technique, have a great day :)

Real criticism for you: I'm a long time watcher. You don't have to force yourself to talk during the entire video to the camera. One of the things I liked about your videos is how it was so asmr like. It was like a conversation between nature and a fisherman. But now it's just you talking to us. I can't watch your 40min videos while doing work anymore. :/ but I think a combination of both is the sweet stuff. Especially when you add little educational info as a treat.
