Been watching you guys for a while..love the fact you get your kids going...me and my stepson hit Texoma 3 or 4 times last year...hardly any luck...skunked every time. Enjoy the tips.keep up the good work

@tholloway5130 thanks for watching our videos. It’s encouraging to get the feedback. Texoma can be really tough. It’s huge. A few years back I struggled and only caught them early morning and late before dark. Last year we demolished them middle of day all day. A lot of the guides go out of Buncombe Creek. You might get there before light and see where some of them are going. As long as you find the area and depth usually you’ll find them. You don’t have to fish on top of them.

I just can’t help it. It’s in my blood. As a boy they’d drop me off at a farm pond in morning and pick me up at dark. Hopefully my boys will keep it alive as well. Thanks for watching!

Nice fishing trip! I went yesterday afternoon here in SE Texas. They wanted to go in at my part time job, but when i seen the moon rise just before the sun came up, i knew the moin would be over head all day! You just cant pass a day up like that, big bonus no wind! I couldnt get anyone to go with me so I was solo! I had three rods down in 59 degree water. I ended up landing 4 double hook ups! Limit for us: 5 over 18" Took around 15 minutes to secure my limit (19" to 22") but I stayed on the fish for two hours and left them biting. Conservatively I caught at least 50 Hybrids on those two hours! 🎣what a blast🎣

@@BooneBoys When I seen you spot lock on a couple spots that was the perfect time to have done it! I did do the normal .5mph deadsticking on a flat...caugth one hybrid...it was on the bait! Not one of the lures! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@@FreshwaterSouL That goes back to my days as guide in saltwater. I ran both offshore and bay trips. Full moon at night killed the reef fish bite. I knew the PM bite would be hot so I would open water pelagic during the mornings. The Kayak guy is where I got the idea to use the muscles for Hybrids...not sure what state he is in but I'm almost positive it's not Texas. Where I am...

I think it should be getting better and better. It’s been pretty warm so the bite I think is later than normal for deadstick.

Awesome video❤. Those are some nice size wipers yall caught. I notice on my 2D Helix bottom isnt noting close to the HDS , The HDS 2D is very clear and smooth being about to see them on bottom. My helix apparently isn't dialed in properly yet in order to get that smooth bottom like that.

I had hopes of using my dad’s helix for dedicated maps, but I was disappointed with it. I don’t have it connected to a transducer or I’d play around with it. I’m really hoping for another Lowrance graph and dedicate it for sidescan.

Was a terrible weekend here. Against my better judgement I went solo to Sooner lake when it was gusting hard Saturday. Winds were 30+ mph and decided it wasn’t for me. Turned around and went home, didn’t even get the boat wet. Sunday when the winds were calm, also against my better judgment tried Arcadia Lake here in Edmond vs going back to Sooner. As expected this time of year the lake was chocolate milk colored and the sediment was so thick my sonar would go crazy past 20 ft. No fish but two painful lessons learned. One, stick to your personal minimums when it comes to weather. Two, Arcadia lake is a mud hole with terrible water quality from November to April. Next weekend will be here soon tho, need fish on my rod!

ML ugly stick? Can you throw more than 1 Oz on that?

Are you throwing it or verticle? If verticle, deadsticking ML up to 1.5oz is no problem. Hookset isn’t quite as fast as MH. Not sure I’ve really have proof on that but MH seems to have better hook sets. I love the bend though on ML.
