Blue smelt & laser Ayu 95 mm double clutch . 3 trebles help .. I agree with the uv , I know deer and a lot of animals see uv .. I'm looking into fish vision now lol.. They would have to .. Thanks for the info brother .. Ow I cleaned up the other week(I'm in Hervey Bay) using the rapala x rap in the uv ghost shiner . Very shallow diving lure .. Twitch twitch pause smack !!

My go to plastic for flattys are the squidgies fish 80 mm in the killer tomato colour

For me the squidgies in silver foxes and drop bear colour way do the best when going for flathead 100mm will catch all sizes (in wriggler and paddle tale)

Top video John you gonna do exceptionally well in the Flathead Classic the only other lure I think you should do a review on is some whole chooks to catch those big 3 metres haha. Once again John good luck and have fun!

What's your thoughts on running a small j bait holder hook as a stinger in the slapstick to reduce catching weed? Up at Tipplers, in weed patches that stinger will do your head in.

Use a popper lure in deep water using a beach rod to catch the 3 meterys

The RD garfish was a lure I almost bought but it’s a sinker ,I think it’s more for game trolling But YMMV

john have u used the megabass magdraft. theres a variety of colors and sizes. i use the 8'' and 10'' for cod, barra and jew. i have just started using the 8 and 10 across the flats for flathead and have had success with some 80s. thinking the 5'' might be ok on the jacks, havent tried that yet. also storm make a hard body called a flatsick. i have the 160 jointed and the 160 glider and they have also produced 80s across the flats as well, also gud for cod, barra and jew. fish hard and have fun with ur brother at the classic. cheers.

Have you tried the Westin Hypoteez yet mate? I picked one up the other week, they look pretty good. I had a big girl spit the hooks in the air on me last weekend on a Jackall Ganita 😭 they have an awesome action!

Holy crap Johnny, it's gunna take you 2 weeks to fish all those lures, 2 hours a day just tying them on! If you fish mainly softies is your brother gunna concentrate on hards? Best of luck, hope you crack the metre! The Jack deep and the Double clutch would be my go to.

Lures catch fishermen. Fish stop seeing uv @2yrs. It’s why uv works with trout stocky bashing

G'day John, only recently discovered your site, I'm in the Brisbane area so BCF anaconda have most of the tackle market wrapped up as I'm sure you are aware, I'm a lure fisher person as well but a fair bit of your tackle I've never seen, do you mind telling where and what tackle store's you purchase your gear please. There is a couple of more independent tackle store's around but a point in the right direction would certainly help...cheers mate thank you

Gday Ben. Great to hear you’ve enjoyed some of my videos. The Specialty stores like Tackle Warehouse, Tackle World Lawnton and Jones’s are some of my go-to stores and I’m happy to travel to find the good stuff. Mossops at Cleveland also stocks some good stuff and has really knowledgeable boys behind the counter like the others. All the best mate ;)
