FITTING A REAR HEADLINER TO MY LAND ROVER DEFENDER 90 VAN BACK!

Күн бұрынWelcome back to the channel! In this video I fit a brand new La Salle headliner to the rear of my Land Rover defender 90. My Land Rover defender 90 is a van back so has always felt hollow. The defender station wagon had a full fit out so I wanted to fit a rear headliner to give a similar feel to my car. Watch this video to see how I get on with my Defender 90 makeover part 1!

Great video mate! Perhaps you could re-trim both headliner sections so you don’t get the colour difference? You can purchase carpet kits/ Alcantara material specifically for re-trimmg the headliners 👍🏼

Thanks mate! Yeah I think it needs a bit of refinement - that’s a good idea to do both liners in alcantara 👌🏻

What about grey or black suede effect to cover both the front and back headliners. It might improve the overall look of the interior and help the front and rear look the same. It's a simple job, like carpet lining and can be done with trim fix adhesive. I'd suggest getting yourself a half decent mask for using trim fix in small spaces.

Good effort Doc. Regarding rear window trims, take a look at Masi. They do a kit but I think your bespoke windows may be a tad too big. Thanks again for sharing buddy.

You need to cover all the bare ally roof with the black insulation not leaving any gaps like you’ve done. Expect to get condensation underneath your new rear headliner still where you’ve left bare roof gaps.

That’s not the comment I was hoping for 😂 I guess I hope it doesn’t get too damp? I don’t think I can face taking it all down again. However thanks for the insight I’m sure that will Be useful to anymore else thinking of doing the same job 🙏🏼

Yikes I wish you had first covered the bare metal with silent coat black and then used the foam over it leaving no gaps. Would have made a notable difference. And the silent coat foam sticks like crazy, u don’t need trim fix but it’s also in the prep. Clean the bare metal with degreaser beforehand.

So much better - it actually feels more like a car and weirdly feels warmer too- used to rattle a lot and echo but that’s gone now 🙏🏼

Why not do it properly? It kills my OCD Take it all out, fit sound deadening in the front section then get a roof line that’s one colour from front to back or get the current ones lined maybe. That way my OCD will be able to relax lol I did all mine, I used dynomat and it’s worked really well. Love the channel, watching in MELBOURNE Australia

It’s great as feel it will be tough but can also Spray it or cover it if I want to in the future

Good video content. i could have enjoyed this video a lot more more but I developed motion sickness after a while..I think reducing quick panning of your camera will improve the quality of your video. Just a suggestion.
