In this video I assembly the front bumper, grill, apron, and number plate board, get the wings, bonnet, sills, and doors all fitted completing the assembly of this mechanically restored series 3 land rover. It drives under its own power for the first time and promptly runs out of fuel.

Well Done, I've loved every episode of this build and got a lot of inspiration and tips to help me with my series 3 rebuild, I'm nearly finished the dirty chassis welding grinding stage. I look forward to the next project, Steve

Steve you're too kind. Many thanks for you kind and motivational words. I'm glad uoure nearly over the project hump. It's so lovely when vlean bits start coming together. I hope you like it, I'm quite worried as it's perhaps quite a change from a S3 land rover.... if its not your cup of tea, Istill very much appreciate your support this far. Thanks again

Well it’s been quite the journey to say the least! Glad to see it’s done, you’ll have to bring it back for a test on the next project ;).

Thanks buddy, its been a good one. It's not quite over yet. The test drive has a few little surprises, and one big surprise. I would love to bring it back as you say :) Can't wait to introduce the next project properly. Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment

It took me a while to figure out what that was. But it turns out it was the suspension damper reaching the end of its travel :)

I’ve only just found you but now I’m going to watch back. You have a lot more patience than me. I’d love PM you some footage of my one. I’ve had it 30 years and 6 years ago decided to replace the door pillars and guess what- it snowballed as I realised just how far things had gone south. I love the really sympathetic way you’ve done yours. And I had to laugh because mine is the same marine blue and the bulkhead is the only shiny bit. I could be looking at your Landrover 😄. I need some advice on aligning my bulkhead because the doors never fitted right they are low at the capping where it meets the back tub. But the front forward top corner of the door top is quite tight to the top of the windscreen

Thanks for the comment. I'm chuffed you found the channel and are enjoying thr content. My sympathetic approach as you kindly put it, is really a function of knowing my limits, I'm just not very good at spraying. You've owned that a long time then! I'm impressed you've stick with it. Is it coming back together or stiill in the dismantling stage? I still haven't got a way to safely give out an email on here, but will have in the coming months hopefully. Had you considered putting it up on YT, I'm sure there would be plenty of people interested. Aligning the bulkhead is quite a task. And remember this is the first one I've done and I wouldn't say I've done an especially good job of it really. But my understanding is that you start at the back, the tub needs to be nicely aligned with the chassis. The rear is aligned forward and aft as it bolts tot he chassis, it has no option for adjustment. The front end of the tub needs to match the rear in terms of being level with the chassis and I'm afraid I'm not sure exactly how the front of the tub is aligned height wise as I didn't mess with this on mine. Once the tub is aligned on the chassis you work forwards so get the doors perfect with the tub and have the bulkhead sit whereever it needs to to he aligned with the doors. In fact not I think about it, that's probably how you set the height of the front of the tub, such that it suits the bulkheads height. Like I said I'm no expert on this as its my first time but I hope it helps. I hope you stick around and enjoy the next project. Its a big one, but its not a landrover.

I'll definitely be showing the test drive but I'm afraid no mud is involved. :( I'm not sure the owner will get it muddy either unfortunately

Thanks for your kind comment. 😊 there are still a couple of videos to come. And I hope you join me for the next project. But I appreciate its a change from the land rover so if yoy don't stick around I understand and I appreciate your support to date. I will miss it, I have grown to love the old thing, and of course there is so much of my effort in it now i will be sad to see it go

Everything you say is me😄 I’ve got mine back together but the rear main seal (2.25 diesel ) which “I replaced “ is leaking. Can anyone show me how to do it 😥
@lozl
@lozl Жыл бұрын
I think they all do that :) Thats an engine out job o believe or a gearbox off job. The sael is a poor design, I guess it helps if you put the split at the top, but its still not brilliant. Good luck fixing it up
