Thanks for this video. It took me considerably longer to accomplish it, but the watch is working. I have had this same exact model sitting in a drawer in the original box for ten years. It was presented to me for 25 years at my job. I retired a couple of months ago after 35 years, and decided to wear the watch. It wouldn't hold a charge, but it works great now. Thanks.

I just thought that I would share with you that I found the chunky all-black diver's version of this watch in my local flea market, for 10GBP. A replacement capacitor battery cost me a little bit more than that, but your instructional video saved me a fortune - Thank you.

Very helpfull video, just removed the capacitor/battery from my Seiko that stopped working a couple of days ago, replacements arriving in the next couple of days and this video makes me reasonably confident that I will fix it OK.

Thank you gor this informative video. I just finished mine and although it took a few tries , all the pieces went back together. I used a 10x jewelers loupe and a bright light source. I had to file down a tiny screwdriver but it was a success. Not only saved money but got that feeling of satisfaction!

I see you omitted showing the other side refitting of the watch band and the retightening of the watch back. Perhaps adding a text line to that effect on your video would have resulted in a 10/10 score from me. Anyhow 9.5 outa 10 aint a bad mark.

I have a 7D48-0AB0. Is the capacitor battery similar to this one in video. I sent mine to BestFix in Denton TX for replacement about 2 years ago. Now the second hand is advancing 2 seconds at a time like in beginning of your video. Is the capacitor the same as battery as I see they have one on Ebay for about $20.00? Looks easy to replace from your video. Thanks

Manage to do it. Thank you. Two problems: 1) Opening the cover without a tool - manage to do it by holding the watch in a piece of cloth and pressing the notches with a pair of tight pliers. Scratched it a bit, though. 2) The battery cover was hard to slide in. Managed to do it by pure luck, by pressing it a few times until it slid in. I guess the right way to do it was to dismantle the rotor gear. That must be why the quote for the job was 95 EUR. Also, you need to screw in first the right screw of the battery cover (the right one in the video), the one with a little pin. I was lucky to have a laptop toolkit. Next time I'm gonna get some proper tools.

Ive got 2 broken seiko kenetics there hopeless I only have 1 working watch my Rolex Deepsea but it's 2 bulky to wear all the time I might sell it and get a sub mariner I don't know yet il see in the future

Mine died about 6 years after I bought it! I still have it somewhere at home since it died in 2012, but I didn't have it repaired--as I wouldn't dare to do myself--'cause it would have been too expensive as I paid $600 USD when I first bought it and didn't know how bad these kinetic watches were!!! 🤔

It would be nice if the scratched crystal be replaced as the icing on the cake, nevertheless it is a very good video

For the convenience of replacing the battery, remove the rotor.

Something is not right. I tried to do exactly what the video showed WITHOUT removing the rotor and the metal plate would not come out.

Absolutely the worst least collectible line of watches (Kinetic) - this is an abomination for any collector unless you wear them daily. Once the battery(capacitor) is exhausted there is virtually no way to revive it outside of hacks that work some of the time. Seiko actually had a charger they sold primarily in Japan and then discontinued because of price point and lack of interest - sell them or store them and forget them as quickly as reasonably possible. They are not collectible and no sane watch collector would pay $1 USD for any.

wrong... remove the rotor and the gear underneath, the gasket you had trouble with has a hole that sets over a plastic stud in the movement! MUCH EASIER, AND CORRECT
