I have multiple office chairs with this same issue. This is the first video I've found that explains how to fix it. As I don't have a lathe I will be forced to search for sets of compatible bushings and pins, but understanding the problem is the first step. Thanks!

Something like this is totally impossible for me to do, isn’t there an easier way I could do it or perhaps a make do” just so I don’t have to chuck my chair out

Nice job. At 11:00 though I did not see you apply some grease on the bolt so as to avoid creaking and reduce friction in general.

Get a cheap 3d printer and print the bushings, that’s what I did

All modern chairs like this do this. They are supposed to be egonomic but they are the cause of back injuries. It is a teriible design failure.

You can buy the bushings but i would have to drive to town or order them so i just fabricated mine.
