The covers are absolutely necessary, but you also need to make gaskets or seal with rtv.

Looks good. I just bought 2 John Deere 450c's and am combining all the best parts into one. Good way to stay busy during the winter months. Going to have to decide if I am going to sell the extra parts machine or keep it for myself.
