Love the flatbed you put it on exactly like I would have except I would have put a strip on rubber Bert weed bed and frame to prevent squeaking in future. You can go to local quarry and get a length of used conveyor belt and cut 3inches wide and place between bed and frame and it will prevent squeakers and you can also use unbolts to attach to frame as well as this will strengthen frame and make it rigid .

Ingenious work and ideas you've come up with...very practical for the everyday user. Can I ask what is the flip-up passenger jump seat out of? I'd really like to have that setup in my old truck.

You better wire in a switch to disconnect that inverter when you aren't running the truck. Those things draw power all the time and will kill your truck battery.

I've seen a lot of trucks that have an oak board between the frame & the body. Not sure why but would this be beneficial? What is the gvwr?
@99Projects
@99Projects 2 жыл бұрын
maybe to help absorb some shock so its not metal on metal? GVWR is 21k ish

The oak strip or so you can fasten bed to frame and bed not slipping on bare metal . A better way is put a1/4 inch thick strip the entire length of frame in between bed and frame, no squeaked and will outlast oak 10 to 1 and will lower the bed a little.

Just curious where your located and how you ended up with that truck. That was my old mechanics truck. Glad to see its still around and running. Not the prettiest thing but that sure was reliable back in the day and always started on the coldest day without being plugged in. I see you ended up with most of all the new parts on the seat that went with it when i sold it from the other video when you first got the truck. I had to take a double take on the other video and i said thats my old truck! Good luck with it and i hope it does well for you like it did for me

Can I ask why not get an air compressor that goes on a 7.3 international from one with air brakes? A wrecker yard would be pretty cheap. Sweet truck, I just feel the compressor is super slow, (I had one for a short time). And would benefit from then factory compressor

i dont disagree, however there is a fair bit more work to put one on a truck, lines, mounting, tanks, etc, and for what i need air for this seemed like the most reasonable way to go
