good video with the cues and side profile shots to facilitate the "visual understanding" of what the cues mean in relation to bar path.

I was pressing with low elbows for years not realizing it was a problem because I thought you HAD to start off the clavicle. Press literally went nowhere until I figured out what was wrong.

The blue book mentions the bar resting on anterior deltoids (unless your forearm length disallows it). Is it fair to say that the priority then, over the starting position on the delts, is elbow position and wrist integrity? I am having trouble with the setup with bar on the delts, but just trying to identify why. If it's just the way my arms are built, seems like that is fine. I just want to make sure that is the proper diagnosis.

What a cringy intro. I agree with like 70% of this video in terms of technical cues but how are you gonna passive aggressively complain about people being snowflakes when starting strength literally is stuck in the 40:s with the momentum riddled circus sideshow that is the "press 2.0". If you wanna talk about dumb snowflake trends, that one is a good start. Thanks but no thanks, I'll continue strict pressing using my shoulders and arms instead of bouncing it on my spine

"passive aggressively complain about people being snowflakes when starting strength literally is stuck in the 40:s" What does being stuck in the 40s have to do with passive aggressively complaining about people being snowflakes? "instead of bouncing it on my spine" No. That is not the Starting Strength technique.
@radreynolds8978

@@VegetoStevieD I'm arguing they are hipsters. "Overhead pressing" where you start the rep with a bounce and lean back like you're trying to do the bridge mid rep was fashionable when trying to win the clean and press event at the olympics, kind of like standing with your feet at the ends of the bar when sumo pulling to cheat the rules in a powerlifting competition. But somehow SS have managed to condemn one while encouraging the other. If you can't press the weight up, don't bounce it up. And if you're gonna bounce it up, just push press.
