Can’t believe his lawyer asked for 5 years only for s abuse of a 12 year old. just because he is poor health. He can be in poor health for many many years. He can spend them in prison where he belongs. He showed no remorse, and clearly didn’t care. 25 years is good.

Agree, but it's his defence lawyers duty to allocute for his client unfortunately. Without this, a judgement without fear or favour, cannot be rendered. I don't like it either, but the alternative ie. Where there is individual, tribal or tribunal justice, is not a place society wants to be either.

I look at each individual regardless of the race and judge from that. There are some Democrats that have Republican beliefs and vice versa.

If there's such a thing as a children's judge advocate, it's probably Judge Boyd. She seems to me to always seek to protect any children involved, even peripherally, in these cases. She's always interested in whether the defendant has children, their ages & who cares for them. I don't know whether it's a bad experience that drives her or just a huge heart, but she's there for children & appearing before her for harming a child, has to be frightening for any guilty defendant.

I really appreciate Judge Boyd. She takes the time to understand each case and listen to each defendant. She also does her best to give them the opportunity to get the tools they will need to successfully complete their sentence and move forward with a sober life. His own language, speaking to others not there, ranting arguments against noone in the middle of the night and finally, the violence and terror he put me, his mom, through. he did get arrested to begin with when he was just starting his illness (this specific illness rears its ugly head when young people are around 20) and got absolutely no help whatsoever in the prison. this Judge is spot on on what will happen if he doesn't keep taking his meds. and I can see why he doens't want to take them it can make them very tired but please, take tired over jail!
