I’m honestly surprised with this review. This was my first cup because it’d be easier to remove. It’s the best cup, in my opinion. Maybe your view is a bit biased. My cup is not hard to insert, remove, or wash (I have no disabilities, just new to cups). I hardly have to tug the stem to break the seal to remove it. It’s so comfortable that I literally forget that I’m even on my period while others have been uncomfortable and put pressure on my bladder.

So you are aware, the pullable string is meant to be helpful for those of us who have a higher cervix. My cup can get up fairly high where I can then hardly reach the string, let alone the cup base. The hole allows me to catch it and have something to pull on to break the seal, allowing its removal. This cup may not be a good fit for your body, but I was excited for the pull string. It is what made me try the cup again after a traumatic first experience. It saves me a trip to the ER when I can't reach the cup well enough to break the seal! Its completely valid for you to not like the cup for your own reasons, but it definitely sounds like you just hate the company and have nothing nice to say because of that. Not the most helpful review except to hear about the experience of someone with a different body type (cervix position).

This cup is revolutionary for people with disabilities and pelvic floor dysfunction. I am glad you finally reviewed it for those people. Keela created a product that made cups accessible to a group of people they weren't accessible to before, and Flex buying them allowed it to be widely available to those people. I am sorry you have an issue with the brand, but that doesn't negate how innovative and inclusive this design is for many.

Lily Williams, I have Endometriosis. I have had the surgery, and I have been put on Lupron twice for it. I haven’t had my period in about a year now. Although I did have some really dark, like end of cycle color spotting two, or three times in the last few months. I’m only 38, but I’m kind of thinking I might be going through early menopause. Anyway if I do happen to get my period again I’m thinking of maybe using this. I have a few concerns, and maybe you can answer my questions for me. 1. When I do have my period it is so heavy that I have to wear a super tampon AND a pad at the same time. I have to change them every 45- 60 minutes. *Do you know if Flex would keep me from having to change it as often? 2. I also have rheumatoid arthritis. I have had both of my wrists fused. They no longer bend. They don’t move at all. My hands are fine. They work great. *So would me not being able to bend or live my wrists make it hard to use Flex? ***TIA🙏🏼***

@@sarabrown2663 to be honest my flow is nowhere near as heavy but on my heavy days I see myself changing the cup every 3 to 4 hours. I can't lie I do have an average 'heavy' flow and your situation may not help you as much. It's already hard changing mine as often as I do, considering the fact they market cups as 12 hours. So it depends on you but the least you can go is probably 3 or 4 hours on a heavy days based on your description.

I have EDS (the same thing as the woman who added the pull string has) and this cup has been awesome! I have a high cervix so that could be a big part of why I like it so much, but it’s been amazing for me! While the company is shady, for lack of a better word, this video/experience seems quite biased. With the exception of your cervix being low (that obviously does play a factor when it comes to these things), it seems like you just weren’t into it. Which if you really want to inform people on ALL products you need to put personal feelings aside. I’m not a fan of the company, but the design intrigued me and it ended up working out great for my high cervix and regular to light flow. I don’t struggle with taking it out like I did with my Lena and I don’t find it more cumbersome to clean. I would 100% recommend to someone with a higher cervix that has had difficulty with other cup removal. The big issue I have with this is the price. It’s a lot pricier than other cups, so while they’re attempting to be “inclusive” it’s still going to be unattainable to those that can’t afford it.

I just bought this cup this is my first cup and I love how easy it is to put in and take out. I have had absolutely no leaks. My problem is it overflowing 🥺. it's easy to clean and the pull tab is so comfortable no matter which way it's turned I still can't feel it! I actually forget I'm on my period it's so comfortable. My only problem is that my flow is so very heavy the first few days I have to empty it like every 3-5 hrs . Besides that I love this cup. I think I'll try the super Jennie for my heavy days if it works out for me so I don't have to empty it so much. I really wish they come out with a higher capacity cup because this one is amazing! And I don't want to have to deal with fishing for a cup nor having to pull it out a certain way so that it doesn't hurt. No matter what it's still worth it to be free from the messy smelly feeling of pads . There is absolutely no odor to deal with 😁😍😍😍

I would love to see a disabled person or fat person review this cup. As someone who is both, traditional cups get difficult because I cannot reach very far in my vagina with my hands and I have to bear down quite a lot for removal. With my selena cup, it's not a huge deal because I can grip the ring stem a pull a little, but this looks like a solution to a problem I have a lot. Maybe it needs tweaking, but I appreciate the thought for those of us who have physical difficulties.

I have neither but I do have dexterity and grip issues with cups that have stems. I’ve tried a lot of high cervix cups and it would take me about an hour trying to get a cup out because my fingers would be so sore after a few minutes. Since this is a pull tab I don’t have to grip to anything, I make the tab stick out so I don’t go sticking my fingers inside trying to grasp onto the base of the cup or the stem. DEFINITELY reduces the amount it takes me to get it out by a LOT 😅

This is my 1st and only cup, and I agree that individual anatomy will dramatically impact menstrual cup experience. If you have a high cervix, or have trouble getting 2 fingers high enough into your vagina to grab the bottom of a menstrual cup, the Flex cup might be the one for you. With my anatomy, the stem does not sit outside of the vaginal canal, but about a 1/2 inch inside. I find the stem very soft and not noticeable at all. This cup, with it's suction-releasing stem, is THE ONLY reason I decided to go ahead and give menstrual cups a try because I knew I would not be able to grab the bottom (and certainly not the rim) of a traditional cup. I'm loving it so far. Thanks for your review.

I am actually happy that I clicked on this video (despite the negativity of the review) because I finally got to read comments from people with the same problem as me, I would even say that it is pretty extreme for me. My cervix is SO high that both SAALT soft cups I tried (small and regular) were impossible to remove by myself (even after trying every single trick I heard about)!! and I had to get someone to do it for me, as a first time user it was a real nightmare! If my family wasn't there to do it for me I would have had to go to the ER... So now I'm hesitating between the Lily cup one and the Flex cup! I'm kinda scared the lily cup will still be really hard to grip or not even high enough? And I am not sure whether the small or large flex cup would be best for me. It's a tough decision when you've already lost money on the previous cups... I'm really bummed that people with high cervixes are often forgotten and that there is not enough awareness regarding the problems that people with a unique anatomy face with the classic/regular cups... Even the channel Put A Cup In It does not talk about it... I also feel like their reviews are often not objective enough and too biased, like when they said that the SAALT cups were perfect!
@alexusjames6768
@alexusjames6768 3 жыл бұрын
Maybe trying menstrual discs will be better? Using the SAALT cup instantly made me realize I have a high cervix. It was damn near IMPOSSIBLE to remove, it took me a few hours with breaks in between. It’s very hard for me to use two fingers to reach all the way up there, wiggle the stem and then pinch the base because the cup was so far up my canal (sorry if that was tmi). The cup itself was comfortable but removal was too difficult. I also wanna try the flex cup but I’m scared but I think it would be the best cup for high cervixes. Personally I find menstrual discs way easier to insert and remove.

@@yiyiluki hi there! I ended up going for the flex cup! I went for the big size first and it actually applied to much pressure on my bladder and wasn't comfortable overall, so then they sent me the small one. The small one was better but the flex cup is just not it for me, it's impossible to remove it without making a mess! While the stem is a lot easier to find/pull, once I pull it to the max the cup won't come out easily, and once it does it's like flipped inside out if that makes sense and all the blood just flows out bc the cup can't hold it when it's in that shape. Basically there is a sort of ring on the stem that's meant to keep the stem from being pulled out too much but in my experience the ring still passes through the hole and well all the blood comes out and it's all over my hand/hands (sometimes i need two hands to take it out). Of course that's my personal opinion, maybe my vagina/cervix are weirdly shaped, who knows 😅 and you might get a totally different experience! But i really didn't love it and switched to washable period undies

I wish you wouldn’t let your feelings about the company impact your review because there are folks out there whose lives could change for the better with this cup they may see this video and not buy it all because you have some weird beef? Also, the advice to get a longer cup? this is specifically poor advice for IUD havers, and pelvic floor/prolapse issues. Encouraging tolerating firm suction is a weird choice for the sake of dismissing the Flex Cup? This is really surprising. Although I don't know much about the company I find this cup amazing. I think having the stemmed loop is really amazing. As someone with very short fingers normal cups are extremely hard to use and have caused me lots of problems as I can't reach enough to properly grab the base and even then on other cups have properly come unsuctioned so it feels like I was pulling my vagina inside out. Having the looped stem has made it so much easier to have the cup come out easier. The first time I used a cup without being able to get it out almost sent me to the hospital so have this feature has been amazing. I do think this review is biased. I understand disliking a company but I do not think this cup got the review it deserved. It has been a game changer and it was very disappointing to listening to the reason this cup was given a bad review. OMG girl washing is a problem?! I thought it was a fair review. I hate everything about it that was pointed out. I found washing it to be far more difficult, being that you need to be super careful because there are so many extra places that bacteria can hide. Not being able to remove, or even shorten the stem. It drove me insane! And, my cervix touching the stem on the inside! I still had to remove the same as a traditional cup after the suction was broken.. It wasn't a good experience, I don't think I used it for a complete hour, and I've never reached for it again. $35 bucks down the toilet with this one! However, to be fair I can see it being useful for some people. Everyone has different bodies, and different vaginas. That was the only part of the review I thought was unfair. Because it didn't work for her, (or me) I can see it being a great cup for people who need the extra support it provides.

It was a tiny bit hard to learn how to insert but nothing a tutorial and practice couldn’t fix. With tampons i always felt like it was keeping me clogged up however with the cup i feel that it’s allowing the flow to fully “empty” itself out. It’s very easy to remove with the string and loop. As a beginner it was a bit messy when it would come out but only because i didn’t expect so much liquid. After a couple tries and being very careful, i experienced no mess. Cleaning it is very simple. No leaks! Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase. I got the smallest size and it comes with a couple free discs.

This is a reminder to people not to ever rely on one person for product reviews, and this is nothing to do with if you should trust PACII or not. Amanda reviewed the cup as honestly as she could, specifically stating that it might be clouded by her opinion of the company. This is a good thing. There were also a lot of issues she specifically stated were personal to her. If you have an issue with trusting this review because of either of those things you are free to check out other people's reviews, and in fact if you really want to get a sense of if a product will suit you that is something you should be doing anyway. But just because someone's opinion is different to yours doesnt immediately mean it's deliberately dishonest.

Here is the thing a lot of people need to realize. 1) she admitted that most of the wear grievances were due to her own body type and the way her cervix sits. 2) she’s much more accustomed to cups. So the extra sets to get it own are more annoying that helpful. This is my first cup and I got it because I was worried about being able to get a typical one out of I couldn’t get a grip on the stem. I also have a very high cervix so I can get my cup deep enough that the stem is inside and doesn’t bother me. Every body is different🥰

I know that this cup works for many people, but the fact that people are using the fact that it worked for them like calling her a liar is completely unacceptable. Although yes, this company may not be the most wholesome company and that PACII may not like it as much as other companies does not mean that she is being 100% biased. This factor may have changed the way she thought of the cup, however, some of her reasons such as the position of her cervix are understandable, and it isn't in any way her fault. Some cups just don't work for some bodies. She is at least being honest by the fact saying that she does not like the cup and letting you know that this is just her opinion which may have been slightly shifted due to the company. Her job is not to make other people love or hate cups, just to let people know what she thinks. Please, if you accuse people of being biased towards companies, make sure you aren't also being biased with the company.

i’m obviously ten months late to this video but i think a lot of these comments are straight up unnecessary. i don’t think the things said were biased, it was an honest review and opinion. if you disagree - i’m glad you like the cup! not everyone will, or has to. my cervix is usually low and this was the first review i saw that even mentioned the relevance of that to this cup, so i found that information really useful.

While I have mild cerebral palsy, I would be worried about my cervix sitting in this cup and the loop that is inside the cup would possibly pull out my IUD birth control device. I appreciate your honest review.

This is the first cup that worked for me. I ja e a very high cervix and usually after wearing a cup for a few hours I can no longer even touch the tip of the stem despite a lot of bearing down and squatting. The loop and way to break the seal was a lifesaver for me!

I have a high cervix and I’m thinking about trying this cup. When you pull the loop down do you still have to squeeze the base? Does pulling the loop down bring the cup down a considerable amount? (I hope this makes sense).

It’s her channel and she can say whatever she wants. You can go ahead and buy whatever you want too. Just a passerby. I’ve not heard of the flex company until today. Never used this cup too and might try it if it were more convenient to get it. I just don’t get why people are shitting on her for saying that she doesn’t like it.

I don’t see how this review is bias because if her cervix sits in the cup I’m sure that could be very uncomfortable i thought about getting this cup and the issue for me was the thing that sits out at the bottom because like she said you can’t cut it. I don’t know anything about the company but those things were the same things i worried about when i was buying my first cup .

Thanks for this review! Not sure why all the negative comments, the cup obviously wasn’t a good fit for you for legitimate reasons you explained very clearly. You warned ppl it might be biased, but seems like thats the only thing they heard and nothing else you had to say 🤷🏾‍♀️. I also have a low sitting cervix and my pixie cup sits low in my vaginal canal, so i had to remove the stem since it would stick out and irritate me. Without the stem it’s perfect and i never have trouble reaching the base of the cup for removal because of my anatomy. So for me this flex cup would be super uncomfortable. As lovely as it sounds to have the seal breaking mechanism I dodged a bullet thanks to this review. I can see why ppl with a higher sitting cervix who usually have trouble reaching the cup would love this. That’s just not me, and it’s not her, and the review was honest.

I've been looking at this cup, to see if it would help me. If it does what it's supposed to do - release suction 'by itself' - then it might work for me. I have bad shoulders, and it seems to be starting to affect my hands, so all I can do is reach down, get any hold at all, and yank (at least my only cup is a Femmycycle so I just have to hook it). Overall, probably not the most medically sound way to remove a cup. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but, hopefully, this might prove a possibility for me.

🥴 I totally hear ya about the stem against the cervix and poking out lower in the vaginal canal. So incredibly squirm-inducing. Yes-it’s awesome to have something with a suction-breaking mechanism, so it’s great for someone else. It’s ok. Thank you for the review. When something literally rubs you the wrong way, it’s hard to not be grumpy about it.

Honestly I think women need to try the product themselves to really know if it works for them or not. I’ve tried a diva cup and didn’t care for it, very challenging to remove. I’ve tried discs and was told leaking was normal but for me a lot of the fluid gets dumped out when I lean forward. It’s kinda discouraging but I’m going to give it a try again next month.

It is my second time trying a menstrual cup,, the first one I’ve tried was the saalt cup and that one was so so difficult for me to remove, it was very painful because I could not get a good grip on the base to pinch it! Then I tried the flex cup and have not had a problem removing it at all. I would recommend this cup to beginners like me because the pull tab gives me peace of mind that it wont get lost in there forever. And also, I find it really easy to insert as well. in my experience the pull tab is not getting in the way of making the cup into a very small fold

So many people in the comments claiming Amanda’s biased because she has a different opinion! It’s an opinion. Opinions are subjective. Everyone’s opinion is subjective. You disagreeing with her doesn’t mean she’s biased any more than the people on here saying it was their first cup and it also happens to be the best thing ever. She even runs through her reasoning for it all ffs and why and leaves it for to decide. God forbid a review doesn’t echo your own thoughts and experiences right back at you 🙄.

I think it’s great that someone made a cup for people with disabilities even though I personally wouldn’t use it because I’m blind. But most brands leave us out so I think it’s great to be inclusive, but I can’t imagine being poked in the cervix with the stem of the cup the way it runs all the way through the way it like you described. That sounds really uncomfortable.

This was the first cup I bought. I like it found it easy to use and as a larger girl found it very easy to remove. I was able to clean it easily and the ring did not cause me any irritation personally. I personally have fibroids and my periods are now insane sooo it is no longer holding up to that but before that problem reared its ugly head I found it to be great. Bottom line like anything else if it interests you try it you may love it or you may hate it.

I saw this cup in my local store the other day, decided to look up reviews prior to purchase. I'm glad I did, reading the sealed box, it did not show or say anything about the stem being up inside of the cup. I personally do not want this cup just for that reason. Besides the fact that when you pulled on the stem to get the lip to release suction, on a heavy flow day it might just pop out and make a mess.

Menstrual cups are so individual I think. Which is probably why we have so many options out there. 😏 I hated this cup. I agree. I don’t like the cup. Spent 35 dollars and it is so uncomfortable. I am by no means new to cups(been using one for at least 10 years). I generally cut the “pull string” off as it causes a lot of discomfort. With this one I can’t do that and it is beyond uncomfortable. I can feel the string even if I am just laying in bed. Would not recommend. It’s like a constant frontal wedgie.

*Do not base your opinion of the Flex Cup on this review.* I almost did because I'd gotten so much helpful info from PutACupInIt when I started using a cup last month. I used the Eva cup (looks like most cups they've reviewed) it leaked constantly so I searched for reviews of a new cup and found this video on their website. I don't understand the beef she had with Flex but it obviously affected the review. This cup was a game changer. It's softer than my other cup, that may be the difference. Either way I'm so glad I wasn't influenced by this review because it's the first time I didn't leak using a cup. Inserting and removal was much easier for me. For reference: I have a high cervix, never given vaginal birth. If you're struggling give this one a chance!

For me, I can have a tendency to feel a bit overprotective of the people/spaces/companies that I care about and I feel too deeply from that place sometimes. I think Softcup created a really incredible product and I had a hard time with the presentation of a virtually identical product as new and groundbreaking. It felt like it was a disservice to a community I care deeply about and to all of the groundwork Softcup had done to get create their product and get a device like this onto store shelves, as well as dismissive of the fact that their product even existed. There is, however, a place for everyone and all of these products meet needs for different bodies. I'm coming around.

I tried 3 different cups before (over many years) and none of them lasted more than 1-2 cycles. They were torture to use. I really don't like the marketing tactic of "oh this is easier for people who are disabled". In what way? Not everyone has the same disability and the same needs. Also, if we're going with the definition of disabled as "person who has motor function issues involving their hands" as is implied, how is it easier to manage if you need to have the necessary dexterity to get the string back to the position it is supposed to be in? I understand that this is one person's view of something that could help them with their disability (and that is absolutely wonderful), but the marketing itself is what I have issues with. It just comes off as extremely ableist (and I'm not one to just throw that word around) that an invention by someone with a disability is being marketed as the absolute solution for everyone with disabilities now that it's been bought by a large mainstream company.
