Warning!! Be sure to wet your stitching on waste canvas before trying to remove the threads you used to cross stitch. I used waste canvas years ago and spent so much time trying to pull out the threads before I read the directions (now that was a good idea) which said to wet before trying to remove thread. The waste canvas is held together with water soluble glue. Ok, I know, you probably already knew that, but for your viewers who might travel down the wrong path as I did, they will have an easy time of it. Love that you are finishing your father's beautiful work.

That owl pattern was well worth the hunt, gorgeous! And I can really appreciate the emotions attached to the Birds of a Feather pillow you made your Dad, and I hope you are up to showing it to us some day, I'm sure it's amazing.

Would you be willing to do a tutorial on how you hand sew your small pillows? I would love to finish mine that same way. They are so very cute. Love watching your videos and seeing all your different crafts. Also love your purchases from the “dump”. Thank you for giving stitchers such great information every time we watch. Keep up the good work!

I watched a great video years ago by Lori Holt on KZfaq. Look up Cute little cross stitch pillows tutorial. It really helped me to make these pillows❤️I may do another video in the future showing me finishing one but check her out. It was so helpful 😊

Love the owl! Just do the owl and leave out the border. In a cool frame you'll never know. I know what you mean about the emotions, I'm still opening boxes from my Mom and it's hard to do. Hang in there! 🤗

The bucket dive was so fun, especially seeing your expressions when coming across a long lost chart! 😊 The Blackwork Owl is awesome! I hope you take the bird pillow out of the closet and enjoy it, it’s a beautiful stitch. I’ve never seen a Keepsake’s calendar, what wonderful chart the hold. Thanks for sharing everything! 🪡✂️🪡

You had me at ‘bucket dive’ ! You are a skilled finisher with a good eye for design and colors. You made good progress on the wolf project. Loved the cemetery tombstones. So glad you found the owl you’ve been searching for. That is going to be stunning. Now I have to look for Prairie Schooler bookmarks. My resolution to not buy any new charts until I finished my current project has been broken. Hope you’re happy.😂 The Astor Place has made it to the scroll! Yeah! Every time you page through your cross stitch magazines, I regret tossing all mine many moons ago - especially over 10 years of Cross Stitch & Country Crafts! It’s probably Scott’s fault! Enjoy your snowfall.

Love seeing your patterns and kits, especially the lost owl. Nice pattern. I think I would leave off the border. Oh, I remember that pattern with the house and the front door pieces to swap out. Always wanted to stitch it but never did. I may be wrong, but I think mine was in a magazine from a long time ago! Fun video, thanks for sharing.

Another use for book mark shaped projects is to stitch them on to the toe area of your fuzzy slippers. When the slipper wares out, I snip the cross stitch fabric off and reattach to a new pair.

Ack! That Holiday House leaflet - I had that in the 90s, but it got lost in one of my moves. I would love to stitch that one and some of the seasonal motifs on perforated paper. And, shout out for waste canvas! I stitched several sweatshirts and still have a bunny one for Valentine. The paw prints will be so cute!
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher4 ай бұрын
I tried a paw and discovered it was smaller than I thought. Back to the hunt for a bigger paw 😃

You always have such great plans - enjoyed seeing all those charts in your plastic bin and am thrilled you found that blackwork owl you’ve been looking for. I have stitched a Geisha - the pattern from Orenco Originals, and although it was a full-coverage with tons of confetti, it is to this day one of my favorites, hanging in my living room. Their instructions are wonderful and you will love working on the Art Nouveau Two Cranes, when the time comes.

Those pillows are too cute!! I want to make the valentines one!! I have 2 cross stitch bookmarks, they are blank but have lace around the edges already, that were in my box of cross stitch stuff from way back. I've been searching for a pattern or two to do on them. I'm just not sure how to finish the backbut I think your way was just so smart.
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher4 ай бұрын
I have some bookmark forms with lace too. I think the last one I did I tucked fabric to the back and stitched it on to hide the back of my stitches. Was NOT fun to do😳

And what are those cans stacked up on the wall behind you ? Just curious, ha ! Please please show us the singing birds, I just love that chart !
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher4 ай бұрын
Love the key idea!!! 👍🏼if you want to see blackwork (backstitch to form pictures) check out peppermint purple online. She is a great resource for blackwork ideas. I think you are referring to the red cans? Those were ginger snap cookie tins that I now use to store bits of yarns and other goodies. I honestly have to look in them to see what else is stored. Singing birds? The pillow? That will be in Monday’s video ❤️❤️

I used Mod Podge on my diamond valentine. One coat brushed on not too thick, let dry and it worked just fine. Don’t think I would try it on anything precious, but, shine is fine and no yellowing. Probably less expensive way to go also. How do you mount your stitches for cards? I have not been happy with precut window cards as they are not quality I would like. Any dependable sources?
@Sarahthenorthwoodsstitcher4 ай бұрын
I make my own window cards with my dies. I’ll be sure to show them. I have two more motifs to stitch then I’ll have 12 and will start carding😀
