I love the Lowry. Some complain about the price, but I look at it as a savings as to what I would spend at the chiropractor getting adjusted from holding my projects for hours. It’s totally worth it in the long run. I think I’ve had mine @ 4 years now.

I bought my Lowry a few months ago as my old wooden stand was wobbly and wouldn't hold a qsnap. I absolutely love my Lowery, best new thing ever.

Hello from the US. Thank you for doing such a thorough review. I didn’t buy a Lowery stand for a couple of reasons. I stitch in my recliner, and my chair has a solid base around it so the Lowery base would not fit under my chair. Reason number two is that the Lowery stand is not very stable with large needlework projects, and I have some HAED projects, so I opted for the Omanik stand because it Suits my full coverage pieces better. And I also use it for my smaller qsnap projects and that works out fine too. We all have our own individual needs so the same stand will not work for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to review the stand. much appreciation.😊❤

Thanks so much for the review. I’m on the fence about whether to invest as I have a cheap cheap wooden stand at the moment. It looks like a good bit of kit but all the other attachments are expensive and, like you, I would need the longer bar. Thanks for your time on this. Rosie ✨💛

Hello from Scotland 👋. Long time watcher, first time commenter. I was swithering about getting one for a while and then The World of Cross Stitching magazine was doing a deal where you got a Lowery when you took a years subscription so I went for that. I had been getting a lot of pain in my hands from holding a q snap and stitching one handed but using the Lowery and stitching two handed has helped with that immensely. The only annoying thing is I have to use it sitting sideways on my sofa due to the design of the sofa. When we next buy a new sofa I'll make sure we get one with arm rests of a certain height. I agree with you that the accessories are expensive. I refused to pay over £30 for an extender arm so what I did was buy a steel rod of the same diameter off Ebay for about £12 and my fiance's friend cut and welded it at a right angle at the measurements I asked for.

Hi Nicola, so lovely to hear from you! Interesting to hear your thoughts on the Lowery. I love that you made your own extended arm! I thought that might be possible but would have no idea how to go about it. Good on you! Xx

Glad I found your video! I just ordered my lowery stand as I've been converted to qsnap after using an 11x11 on a project, and stitching on the side I held it on was uncomfortable at best. I have some larger projects planned for 2023, so this will be super useful.

I really enjoyed your review. I too have a Lowery stand and I just can’t get on with it. I know lots of people love it but fir some reason just don’t get on!! I do find mine a bit unstable and have to put a heavy book on the base to keep it more sturdy.

I love my Lowery too! But then I always use a qsnap, roller frame or hoop, and very rarely stitch in hand. They are pretty durable too - I’ve had mine about 15 years. I believe the Gus’s stand you mentioned is actually made here in Western Australia by the way 😊 - and just to say I enjoy your channel. Happy stitching Lesley

I had an Opus Floor Stand which I loved, I only had to let it go as it was damaged beyond repair in a move. I tried a Lowery stand at a show but found it a bit too clunky and restrictive. I've since bought an Elbesee Pozilock stand which is great, especially when needing to get to the back of my work. I've recently started using Nerj frames too which work brilliantly on it. The only downside is that the arm is a little short for my Chair (it's one of those cuddle chairs) so I find I have to sit forward but on my sofa and standard armchair it's fab. I am still considering another Opus though... 😁

Great review - I have a Lowry stand, but found it difficult to use in my chair setup and where I need to have the project to see. I had high hopes this would work but so far it doesn’t really. Like the others who responded the accessories that may or may not help are just too pricey right now. There is a part of me that is a bit unnerved that they are so expensive.

Hi Lindsi I bought the lowery in 2020 and love it ! I broke my right wrist this year and had to use my left hand for stitching, this stand and the needles with the hole in the middle enabled my stitching to continue ❤️

I have a lowery and haven’t used it for a couple of years didn’t like the wobble on the base, and could stand having stuff standing on it. I have got a Needlesneed stand which I love but I do all my stitching in millennium frames or a large q snap and it is just great. Very hard to get hold of long waiting list but luckily picked one up second hand

Hmmmm this does sound like it would be better than my clunky wooden lap stand. I appreciate the review! I might have to seriously consider one of these.

Hi Lindsi! Great and honest video, which I appreciate. I have a lowery which I bought about two years ago, but I just couldn't get it to work for me! It's not stable enough on my carpet (wobbles) and it can't go under the sofa leg the way it can for others. Also, the clamp is always in the way of my hands, no matter which way round I put it! So I bought a corner clamp, but it's all still too wobbly and flipping the piece with a corner clamp means it's out of reach for me! I think I need a 20lb weight on the base plate, but just can't justify the additional spend, when the likelihood is that it still won't be ok. I really wanted to have it in front of me! I have used an Elbesee seat stand for years, but that's not good for two handed stitching. So! I bought a Siesta Stitchmaster for about £35/40, in the UK, has two arms that a hoop, qsnap, scroll frame can sit on. Still a bit wobbly at full extension but completely fine for me. Sofa, office chair, it all works and I love it. Thinking of getting a second one so I can stitch on any floor in my house just by taking my stitching upstairs! Check it out 🙂🙂 Jo x

I got a lowery for my last birthday and I’ve not used it nearly as much as I thought I would but I will use it for some projects. The sad story is the Monstrik stand I bought which sat in a box for 3 years until we got a space for it and now that it’s up, i don’t like it at all.

Oh gosh, that’s such a shame about your Monstrik stand - it just goes to show that it can take a while to find what works for you… xx

I actually really like my Omanik Monstrick stand. I’ve been using it for over 3 years. I do a lot of full coverage pieces like HAEDS, so it works out well for me. I have back and neck issues from an old car accident,so the multiple levels and angles of adjusting the qsnaps amd omanik frames works out well for me. Everyone has different needs!

I've got a Lowery stand and it's good, my 😕😞 about it though is, I've got a corner sofa and all my stuff is in the alcove on the right of the corner, I'm a 2 handed stitcher but because I'm a lefty I stitch with my right hand on top of the piece and my left hand underneath but the bar/clamp then prevents me from stitching comfortably. Does this make sense? I need to get a corner clamp to see if that helps but not able to afford it
@BlushingPinkStitches
@BlushingPinkStitches Жыл бұрын
That does make sense yes. I suppose the Lowery doesn’t always have the flexibility that you might want. Hopefully the corner clamp will help - when you’re able to but it of course, so expensive! Xx
