Love that spot. The bridge is gone now though and a big tree has taken its place!

I'm actually glad the bridge is gone. Nothing to cast under and now people can't walk Over top the run and stand there spooking fish. 😆

The fish in that run hold deep, right up near the bridge

oh yea I know. there's a branch or something deep in that area too. almost got to hope you get a strike before a snag.

I have family in NJ. I’m going to visit and fish this stream. Any recommendations to research?

weather. my favorite times to fish it are after a rain or during rain. most flys will work as long as your drift is natural. they like big buggy flies. pink San Juan always works too. make sure you call to get a free reservation. they only allow 15 per day on Wed Sat and Sunday. you'll need a 5 dollar park pass the day of. you can Google Smithgall woods for park info and the number. I believe they stop allowing fishing at end of May so call soon.

thank you so much for this information! One more question if you will. When does season open?
@trouttrailfishin2 жыл бұрын
@@johnconklin5180 trout season is always open in GA. some streams have certain regs on size and limit. There are also DH (delayed harvest) streams that are CnR between November and May. You can get more specific info on the GA DNR website.

How do you get into this creek. Been wanting to fish it for a while now.
@trouttrailfishin4 жыл бұрын
They most likely are closed until cooler fall temps. but you just call 17068783087 make a free reservation for whatever open day they have that fits your schedule. there is a park fee of 5 bucks. fishing days are Saturday Sunday and Wednesday. they only allow 15 anglers per day. you need to fish single barbless hooks only. its is Cn R only as well. if you fly fish you fish a 2 fly rig. if you spin fish just remember no trebbles and pinch down your barbs. good luck.
