Flying Scotsman - Mainline Loaded Test Run - 2016

8 жыл бұрын60103 Flying Scotsman is seen on it's mainline loaded test run, on the Carnforth to Carnforth test circuit via Hellifield & Preston. Locations are Clapham & Langho, where the Scotsman was sounding very healthy. Hopefully the A3 will be deemed ready, as it's booked to head the Winter Cumbrian Mountain Express this coming weekend, before it's inaugural mainline run on the 25th February. I hope you enjoy the video.

+Robert Masterman Bob, I'm sure that bit of front end leakage was just a little teething problem. Mr Riley has done an exceptional job on this iconic loco and I look forward to seeing on several occasions this year.

I'm sure that Ian Riley has done a wonderful job on getting Scotsman back to Main Line working Liam. However, with so much time and money spent on it's re-build, these front end leaks shouldn't be there. I've had many comments about steel expansion etc, if this were the case then such leaks would be commonplace. It's just not expected from such a Top Link Workshop...Regards...Bob

Gee, no wonder why Britain's so great with railroads, they knew how to make engines climb mountains, not like us, we made engines vulnerable to wheelslip. Great job Britain!

I calculate all in total weight = 615 tons,assuming the coaches were empty.

You're clearly not being honest, Flying Scotsman came 22 years before "The Three Railway Engines" was published, Gordon wouldn't have been a thing without the A1/A3s.
