great diag. 90's GM cars had issues with shorted injectors with the same results. V6 firebird crank/no start, unplugged 2 bad injectors and it cranked right up on 4 cylinders.

Took an interview at woody Anderson a year ago, they wanted to start me at 18 an hour after already taking a pay cut from being layed off at another employer. They were big on certifications. I could pass most of them already but the service manager says we could probably have you up to 24 after two years… that’s still less than the current job I had at that time. I enjoy wrenching but can’t take the cuts and start over building back up. Great video.

I wish you were in Oklahoma. I trust that you would get my truck fixed right. It’s a’21 Super Duty 6.7l sitting there waiting on new engine. It blew a hole out the side of the motor with only 38,000 miles on the odometer. Getting a new long block, main wiring harness, injectors and a turbo system. Been there since the end of February waiting on parts. 😢

Its easy to get a job at a Ford dealership. They're desperate for help. If you ever find yourself in a position where you are close enough to a dealer to make it worth your time, there's a couple of things you need to be aware of. To start with, Ford is the best place to learn. Factory training is really good, and you have an endless supply of work. However, its not the right place for everyone. Ford makes extremely complicated and unnecessary design choices. If you're one of those guys that hates it when you have to do a lot of extra work for no reason, don't even think about going to Ford. That said, if you don't mind hard work, and are there to learn, as well as make a paycheck, do it. You'll learn so much, so fast, you won't believe it. You'll see more things in 6 months working for Ford than 10 years at most other brands. But you have to want to do it. If you can get a few years in, if you decide to switch to a different brand, it will be like you're on vacation. For a beginner, Ford can be very intimidating, especially when you're doing a diag like the one in this video. Its not as nearly as complicated as it looks. If you apply yourself, you should be able to do what he just did in about a year. You just won't be as fast. How is that possible? This diag video is a quick summary of what was done, not the entire procedure. About 80% of the entire process was left out of the video. If you were doing this diag, you would first find out if there are any related DTC's specific to the problem, or you would have to go by symptom. Once you get the that point, the workshop manual for the vehicle will have step by step instructions on how to do the diagnostic and repair procedures. Nothing is left out. Every nut and bolt to do the job is accounted for. For most repairs, you have to follow the shop manual procedures. It won't be optional. For any type of warranty repairs or recalls, Ford requires you to run through all the steps in the manual, and include the test results when you submit the RO for payment. This is good for a beginner, because they force you to do everything the right way. And if you run into any problems, you can call Ford and speak to an engineer. And if the engineer can't help over the phone, they'll send a field engineer right to the shop, and you both figure it out together. So, to make a long story short, you'll have a lot more support than you might think.

I have a 2019 f250 6.7 diesel with 10,500 miles on it. The truck runs perfect when it’s running. You might get in the truck after running in somewhere and go to start it and nothing it’s a no crank no start full accessory power active everything inside the truck works and throws all kinds of stuff like hill decent control off and blah blah blah. Press the button to cut it off. Then press again to start the truck might fire right up run for 3-4 seconds then cut off. Press the button again fires right up runs perfect no glitch’s no check engine lights ever during this sequence. Might be fine for a few days then it does it again. Ford dealer couldn’t find anything wrong with the truck they had it for 4 days told me to come get it then the truck does it again. When the first got the truck it threw p1263 p1264 p1265 and p1266 injector codes. But this just has to be something electrical doesn’t it?

Hey so I recently bought and 2018 f750 with a 6.7l power stroke in it. When I got it home I realized that the coolant tank has lots of black in it looks almost like from exhaust. My question is where should I start with this ,replace egr cooler or could it be oil cooler or head gasket? thanks

Injectors don't short without DEF. No way there wasn't DEF run through that system. 2 Injectors shorted? Yeah DEF. Should've been a fuel system. Seen too many shorted injectors due to DEF. Probably a minimal contamination. Bet if you cut open the return line you would find minute amount of crystals.
@LoneWolfSparty
@LoneWolfSparty 5 ай бұрын
If that truck is under warranty I doubt Ford is going to pay for an entire fuel system unless you REALLY have a good reason and LOTS of documentation and evidence. Otherwise that's going to get back flagged or denied and the shop is going to have to eat the cost of the repair.
@pryius6216
@pryius6216 5 ай бұрын
@lfSparty any time there is any type of fuel contamination it immediately becomes non-warranty. I never said anything about it being a warranty job. My point was that 6.7 injectors don't just short out internally for no reason. It is not a failure we see on them without something else causing it. Even more so that it was 2 injectors at the same time. No, they don't just fail like that. I would bet my entire year earnings on there being contamination in the fuel on that truck. I too am a Senior Master Technician, and have worked on the 6.7's since they first came out. Been at my current dealership for 14 years and have been working on Fords for almost 20 years.

Glad im to poor to buy a truck. They look like they cost lots of money to have. You gotta have nice steady fat income to evan think of getting one . Most people lose them to repo, 70% actually lol. Dodge,chevy,ford, Toyota. They are all junk now days. Cant argue that. Do research, i got a 02 buick head blew ,tranny needed valve body and solenoid. Mite be intake leak. Antifreeze is brown gel thick type stuff lol. My oil still normal though. This bill gona be hefty . Fix it or go bankrupt getting new car. Either way im getting bammed. Wish id actually learned when my dad did all my caviler head gaskets. He always said one day im not gona be fixing your cars and you wont be able to afford the cost to fix it. Well pops you got one more in ya bud lol kinda hurting after paying 6gs in taxes. A immigrant will be happy though right, or Maybe i payed for one mortar round in Ukraine. Have good night yal, stay blessed , biden 🖕
