Heck yeah! That guy's job is a cake walk compared to how we gotta break down our farm tractor tires... pry bars, cheater pipes on the pry bars, sledge hammers and blocks of wood to beat around the bead of the tire, and even setting the tire down on the ground and driving my 4x4 truck up a 2x6 board that's laid on the bead of the tire and then often having to sledge around the bead!!! I just can't imagine what even the cheapest model tire machine would cost that can do these large tires :-O

What a great machine, this is really interesting. Quite therapeutic to watch, too. With the tyre removed the foam filling just looked exactly like a 1950 Dinky Toy tyre!

Like the Pizza cutter wheel at the end. Some find these videos boring, me, I find them fascinating the ingenuity that is used to design the machine is amazing. Actually no recycling at all just tyre removal.

Hell of a lot quicker than the way I used to do it. Using a knife to cut the tyre and then hack away at the foam filling, to rescue the rim. Used to take me about 30 mins for a 12.5-16.5 solid filled bobcat tyre.

Bet the famers and etc love this machine, saves a fortune, and reuse the foam. I can see the machine is used and used and used and used. Tires are 350 to 500$ sometimes not including the foam and set time. But the tractors and such make big money per hour. Thanks.

I have worked in the foam filled tire industry for over 15 years. We had to do this all with a forklift press plattern. Sawsalls The "Foam is 100% recyclable also" Cut it in chunks and put in another tire that will be foam filled. This kind of work destroyed my body. I wish to all mighty that we had a machine like this. My back has no discs left in it. The foam fill industry was made up after the MFG of these tubeless rims. A 2 piece rim is a tube type tire A 3 piece rim Has a O ring and locking flange 1 piece rims are tubeless and [need no tube] Tube repairs are far more costly then "plugging" the hole in a reg air tire.

I wonder why they don't use 2 piece wheels (bolted together in the center) on these? Removing the beads around the 7:00 minute mark reminded me of peter griffin driving the forklift hahaha.

Not a split rim, a two piece wheel bolts the left side to the right side, a split rim just has a split ring that keeps the bead on, two different types of rims, split rims are also extremely dangerous to mount, lots of guys have been killed by them over the years, that's why they are no longer used.

A 2 piece rim will not work that tire with foam weighs over 1000 pounds and the application of tire is for heavy duty equipment. A 2 piece rim will flex to much causing bolts and nuts to come loss . A safety ring rim or 3 piece is extremely dangerous

Most of the commenter don't even realise, that this wheel is filled with solid rubber and can weight more than 400kg. They have already seen a bicycle tyre, so they know better everything.

Seems awfully involved - and I bet wasn't cheap. When I needed new tires for my Bobcat 7753, I just used a sawzall and cut off my bald, solid rubber filled tires and they made some heapin' smoke signals on our bonfire that night! Rims cleaned up like new - then refilled again for their 2nd life!

The tire is foam filled instead of air filled so it doesn't have flats. Once the tire is worn out the only way to get it off is to cut it off.

The video shows the initial process of recycling a tire whereby removing the tread and the inner foam filler which will later be used to make other things, and now a new tire can be reinstalled onto the rim. Tire treads are often turned into small chips and then used to make things like "welcome" mats that you would lay outside of your door, but unlike what another commenter said, I personally have never heard of the foam filler being reused whereby putting them back into another tire.... although they may actually do this now, what I have experienced is after a new tire is put onto the rim, it is refilled through the valve stem with new foam. I only know this because I own a couple Cub Cadet garden tractors and a Ford 9n, 8n, and a 3600 and 2 of them have foam filler because I was frustrated with getting flats... my grandpa who owned this property before me had a very questionable knack for tossing broken bottles and used nails in the back yard :o/

Well , it's like this,they are removing the old tire and the rubber that's inside because the tire is no good anymore so what They do is clean the rim add a new valve stem mount a new tire and foam fill it .

I ididn't ge tthe idea of this video. So you recycle the rubber and what of the steel wire core? Why cut the tire in the first place and spend 8 minutes doing so when you can just take of the tire and replace it with the same amount or even less time spend. So taking of the layers -> for recycle? Only reason i would do that. Tho we don't even need to do it here since theres far more effective ways to do that.

Because you reuse the old rim, a new skid steer rim is over a hundred bucks, and that one was twice the size, throw a new tire on it and refill with rubber. saving probably over 200 bucks.

I still have split rims on an old(1960) grain truck but most shops won't touch them today. I certainly do not blame them because even with a tire cage there's no guarantee ;-0)

Yea on a pneumatic split rim the air pressure holds the lock in place so long as it seats properly in the rim. There are bead lock rims that use a bolt-on lock ring that is much safer and I bet would great for these tires.

avery, you asked "what was the point of this video?" orbit replied with an obvious answer of how it's "in the title dummy" you replied to him "Orbit, the title is why I ask........point?" ...and so if you still don't get what the point of the video is even after reading the title which CLEARLY says "Foam tire recycling with Corghi tire machine" and then the video showing what the title says, then you must be one of the more clueless people.... the video CLEARLY shows the initial process of recycling a tire whereby removing the tread and the inner foam filler which will later be used to make other things, and now a new tire can be reinstalled onto the rim.

That "foam tube" weights about 600 lbs. Not going to just grab that and walk away with it.
