This song... It's emotional for me. My dad was a massive Foo Fighters fan. Had all their albums, got me hooked on Foo Fighters, even managed to get my mum to be a FF fan even though she used to hate rock. Dad got early onset dementia in his early 40s, and ended up in a nursing home where me, my mum, and my sister (who was barely 6 years old when dad was diagnosed) used to visit him. One day, he is taken ill. It's pneumonia. A few days later he dies aged 47. A few days after that, this song is released, with the video being set in a nursing home, with the patients rebelling against the monotony of their lives and acting young one last time. A few days after the funeral, "Sky Is A Neighbourhood" is released I was actually reminded of this song just now when I had to fix a problem with my laptop and needed to use the "Run" function to fuck around in regedit. Decided to give the song a listen again and see if I can get through Run without crying. I can't. But they're happy tears. This song is one my dad would have loved, as is the video. He'd been a rebel his entire life, before he settled down and had me he'd been a homeless punk. Even after accepting a normal life he still never took shit from anyone and never accepted "the man" telling him what he could and couldn't do. To me, Run encapsulates the man he was, and Sky Is A Neighbourhood was perfect for a send off. Thank you for the amazing music, Foo Fighters. Thank you

I'm sorry to hear my friend. Stay strong. He's perfect running around probably jamming this song every time you play it. I too lost a loved one...my 10 month old daughter back last February.(in my pic) She gives me the strength to keep going and the love to care for all. Ive lost a lot since her passing. License, car, job and still trying to hold onto the house but I stay strong for her. Life tries to knock us down. No matter what, get back up and shove it back at it. One day we'll all run together in a perfect life.

I have this set as my alarm clock it's the PERFECT way to wake up every morning. It starts with a soft "wake uuuuup" the way mom used to. Then a little inspiration "run for your life with me" like "ok good idea" Followed by screaming which really gets you out of bed the way mom used to.

It's funny, I loved My Hero the first time I'd heard it, and a handful of other songs along the way. It wasn't until the past few years that I got REALLY into the Foo and have been realizing what I missed the past 20 odd years by not getting into them more sooner.

This is a really refined, impressive, and galvanized track for Foo Fighters considering it was made relatively late into their career. This song's about 5 years old now, but I was shocked at how well put together it was at the time. Not that Foo Fighters were ever "bad", I was just surprised they still had something so good still int hem.

Im not a huge fan of FF, but always that i listen any song of them.....they give me the feeling of freedom in the lyrics, and they always makes me stop and listen and give a sense to all the things in my life......because of that...this band is more bigger in all aspects. Grohl you make it!

I wouldn't call Gorillaz a band but yeah they are good as well as RHCP but they changed a lot and while the newer stuff is fine it doesn't get too close to the gold days nor to the early years (which I hate)

This is freakin' awesome. Also, the fact that the band hooked up with pop producer Greg Kurstin for their forthcoming album, CONCRETE AND GOLD, is quite a surprise. I don't have one single problem with the Foo Fighters willing to try something new. ROCK ON!! ✌️
