Dear sir. My wife and I saw you in GR Michigan in 2023. It was a great show. We have a 17 year old special needs daughter who is very challenged mentally. She will live under supervision all her life❤. Anyway, one night as she cuddled with me and my wife at bed time, I played this song to relive the memory of the concert we saw. She said, “Dad, play the boy again. I like this.” So, in her world, your the boy who plays a song that she like to hear at bedtime. I can’t help but think of the irony of the song and my daughter 🤷♂️. Thanks

Attending my first concert at Bamboozle in 2012 was a transformative experience, and Dave's words have stuck with me ever since. When he declared, "you don't need all these fancy lights and equipment, you can do this too, anyone can do this," it was like a revelation that transcended the performance itself. Dave's message was empowering, breaking down the barriers between the stage and the audience, inspiring a belief that creativity and passion are within everyone's reach. That moment became a catalyst for change in my life, sparking a newfound motivation to pursue my own artistic endeavors. The idea that anyone can create something meaningful, regardless of resources or background, is a powerful and liberating concept. Dave's words continue to resonate with me, serving as a constant reminder that the journey of self-expression is open to all, and that sometimes, all it takes is the courage to embrace one's creativity. The Bamboozle concert of 2012, with its memorable message, will forever be etched in my mind as a turning point and a source of inspiration.

This song help me immensely. I was struck down a year this week . Paralysed unable to breathe without life support, had to learn how to breathe unaided, talk again, walk again , eat again. Guillain Barre Syndrome. I have since recovered about 95%. When your in agony painful nerve endings and massive muscle wastage and you have this playing when you are pushing through the pain barrier doing physio in a rehab hospital the words are so motivational. I never wanna die I was running through the fire, dancing on my grave and learning to walk and talk again . Thanks Dave you fuckin helped me man.

Love that this song helped you! I can honestly say that i have yet to hear Foo Fighters song that wasnt awesome. I could never say that about Nirvana tho. Its a shame that their best asset was constantly overlooked and in the back/behind the scenes, and its really shitty that it took Kurt Cobain to die for him to make his way. Btw, Have u seen the movie this music video is copying? Its great! Stars Michael Douglas and its called *Falling Down* That movie will put shit into perspective.
@chymist665 жыл бұрын
jessica beverley thanks for the reply. Yeah it’s always the way with a front man in a band that’s idolised like Kurt was. People wrongly assume the success is all down to the charismatic front man when actually it’s a team effort. Dave is special he’s developed something unique, the punchy tunes and his style of guitar playing are all strongly influenced by his drumming, and he was and still is a talented drummer. But Dave will agree it’s not all his doing , while he runs the show he has a lot of talented guys with him to make the Foo Fighters who they are. His drive and never give up attitude inspire me, like when he broke his leg and the band played on. Yes btw I have seen falling down twice. Michael Douglas is certainly having a bad day. Ha ha

Learning to talk again I believe I’ve waited long enough Where do I begin? Now For the very first time Don’t you pay no mind Set me free, again To keep alive, a moment at a time That’s still inside, a whisper to a riot The sacrifice, the knowing to survive The first decline, another state of mind I’m on my knees, I’m praying for a sign 🪧 Forever, whenever, I never wanna die I never wanna die I never wanna die I’m on my knees, I never wanna die I’m dancing on my grave I’m running through the fire 🔥 Forever, whenever I never wanna die I never wanna leave I’ll never say goodbye 👋 Forever, whenever Forever, whenever Learning to walk again I believe I’ve waited long enough Where do I begin? I remember him saying that when he joined FF, he was intimidated by being the drummer in a band where the best drummer in the world is the lead singer and guitarist. A million miles away Your signal in the distance To whom it may concern I think I lost my way Getting good at starting over Every time that I return Learning to walk again I believe I've waited long enough Where do I begin? Learning to talk again Can't you see I've waited long enough? Where do I begin? Do you remember the days? We built these paper mountains Then sat and watched them burn I think I found my place Can't you feel it growing stronger Little conquerors Learning to walk again I believe I've waited long enough Where do I begin? Learning to talk again I believe I've waited long enough Where do I begin? Now, For the very first time Don't you pay no mind Set me free, again To keep alive, a moment at a time That's still inside, a whisper to a riot The sacrifice, the knowing to survive The first decline, another state of mind I'm on my knees, I'm praying for a sign Forever, whenever, I never wanna die I never wanna die I never wanna die I'm on my knees, I never wanna die I'm dancing on my grave I'm running through the fire Forever, whenever I never wanna die I never wanna leave I'll never say goodbye Forever, whenever Forever, whenever Learning to walk again I believe I've waited long enough Where do I begin? In 2001 I was diagnosed with leukemia. Had a stem cell transplant(think bone marrow) from my sister in 2002. Without going into all the details I'll just say I ended up in a wheelchair with nerve damage in my feet and left hand. I still to this day cannot feel much below the ankle or move my feet. I have special orthotics that help me walk but I literally had to learn how to walk again and it was YEARS of physical therapy to get me there. My balance isn't great but I CAN walk again. I also used to tell people that I was too stubborn to die. This song came out in 2011 years after all of these happened to me and I know this isn't the case but it literally feels like these guys took my story and made a song about. I've heard this song hundreds of times but I still get chills every single time I hear Dave sing I'm never gonna die.

I’m so happy you’re here to tell your story. Let me tell you how similar our stories are. My little brother had a stem cell transplant at 43, diagnosed with Plasma Cell leukemia. Also, with Multiple myeloma. His spine was/is pretty much destroyed. He can walk, but it was HARD to come back. This song, I played daily as I left the hospital. I flew from Tennessee to California to be with him. For 3 months….. He’s still here too. Not only will I think of him, I will think of you every time this song plays. I hope you do well and have a beautiful life from here on out.
