What do u think about losing Olise? When I watched the Man Utd match where u guys dismantled them, I said to myself this is the best football palace will play. Because next season u guys will not have ur stars. With Olise gone I can't see why Eze would stay and I can't see u guys finding ready made replacements. U guys have a good coach so who knows 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@martinfrench5527 If you want to go down that road then you are obviously going to ignore the 350 Million that was incoming, then there are the loan fees. So lets call it 600 million blown. Undoubtedly there have been a few that are not showing their value, but if the likes of Palmer, Jackson, Gusto, Madueke, Petrovic, Chukwuemeka and Santos were available, CFC are getting their money back and then some. Throw in the deals to be had with Maatsen and Hall. The big wages that have come off the books cannot be ignored either. The spotlight is always on the likes of Mudryk and notice how the media spin that one, they always quote the fee that it could be, not what it is today. I think a lot of clubs, media and opposing fans are running scared as they think this could actually bear fruit sooner rather than later.

Believe we'll regret Hall far more than Maatsen sale in 3-4 yrs time And it's funny how the ones whining about Chelsea's strategies have failed most at basic finance for decades, such as ManUtd giving huge wages to the likes of Rashford, Sancho, Casemiro and overpaying for Antony & Pogba rather than buy youth

As an accountant in the States, I’m interested in and impressed with the work our finance/accounting department is doing. Accounting is rule-based and not logic-based so some things don’t make sense. But we’re just taking advantage of the rules in place. On another note, I think it’s total BS to have been punished retroactively regarding our contract amortization strategy. It’s like being punished for breaking a law when what you did wasn’t illegal at the time. We were just ahead of the game. But I digress.

It's genius. Both players are academy so the revenue is reported to be the full amount in each clubs books for that financial year but the expense of the purchases that reflect in the books for that year is only the amortized sum per year. So Chelsea make 37-5 m this year and Villa make 20-6 this year. Of course the 5 and 6 are my guesses of the amortized value of the player per year.

The Chelsea owners have a huge financial background and have therefore brought in only the best financial officers. Why wouldn’t they with such a huge acquisition and one of their biggest assets to become a global phenomenon. People need to start realising what Chelsea are going to be. Come on you Chels 💙💙💙

Clubs have always amortised transfer fees across the length a player's contract. This was done in accordance with accounting principles and irrespective of whether the fee in question was paid in installments, or in full upfront. Chelsea's wrinkle was to make long contracts their norm.

The valuation of players is just crazy. The FA can start determining the value of players based on certain metrics and allow a 3m to 7m max cap to be put on their player valuation by clubs. Sounds cringe thinking abt it now bt hey Chelsea accountants are doing their jobs😂😂😂😂😂

The fact clubs are exposing loopholes in an attempt to keep up with ffp and the dominance of city shows surely that the current psr rules do not work yo yo promotions and the same teams at the top and the new teams breaking into the top 6/4 can’t sustain there new positions battling for the European places because of PSR it’s a joke

They are just ahead of the curve when it comes to freeing up capital to put into the transfer market. A lot of moaning about the owners but they aren’t the Glazers. Hopefully this gamble with Maresca pays off, in my mind we need a striker and a goalkeeper..it could come together and if it does people will pipe down.

It does sound like the plusvalenze scandal that rocked Juve, snd the whole of Seria A last year. Clubs were selling and buying players and altering the fees. If that is actually going on, it might lead to criminal charges. Or it just might be that the Villa player is much more highly rated than most people think.

The loophole accounting is basically making up for overspending and poor-decision making over the last year or so by Eghbali and his gambling/transfer habit. We are having to push the edge of the envelope in all sorts of ways in Fair Play because they have blown a huge transfer and fee budget. If the end result is that we are forced to sell obviously key players like Gallagher and lose a good manager like Pochettino, then the fans need to start protesting against Eghbali, Winstanley and Steward. They are ruining this club. The first half of next season needs to be at least as good as the second half of last season to justify what they have been doing.
