Shug and Hickory, I agree completely with the philosophy you guys had. Take an hour long break when you need it, put your feet in the water, smell the flowers, and enjoy the hike in some beautiful forestry. We met people that were trying to do the whole thing in 4 days with 18-20 mile days. That's just not for me. Like you, I can't pass up a picnic table. That's a luxury in the piney woods. We camped for the night at the same place you took a break at the Toxaway River. I felt your pain while you were describing Heartbreak Ridge. Can't wait for Part 4. Swampfox

Those litter bugs get everywhere, such a shame, Gods beautiful creation marred by the hand of man. Man that snake was quick. What kind of snake was it. Looked angry. I really liked to see you both enjoying good longstanding friendship with each other. That's precious. Thanks again shug. By the way, you both do exceptionally well for guys in thier late fifties, I'm not far behind ya. Top job.

Awesome trip... loving your sharing of the adventure so far. ?... why do you call your bro K "Hickery"... is it just the nickname for him , like "Shug"? Always wondered this. At 58, that Heartbreak Ridge would have been "Heart Attack Ridge" for me... then you'd have to call in another Blackhawk to carry my butt out! Lovin' every minute of it from my living room! Tired feet in the river.... Whoo Buddy! ...so nice! Hot toes...Bad toe...Angry Toe. ..Toes should be issued with a 500,000 Mile warranty... am I right? Loving the trip, guys.
