India is witnessing an unprecedented upraising and people resistance in the form of farmers struggle in Delhi and various other parts of the country. Three new farm acts passed by the India government in September, 2020 were the trigger point that spilled the fury of the farmers onto the streets. The new farm bills passed by the government are detrimental to the farmers and they are demanding government to repeal the acts. The need of the hour is to strengthen and widen the APMC net and to extend the MSP cover to a wider set of farm-produce rather than bringing in a parallel 'free-market' private trade-areas with no MSP cover. The new farm acts are part of a well-planned strategy to drive out the farmers from their own livelihood and handover the Indian Agriculture to the mega agro-corporate monopoly. This move would only destroy the Indian agriculture and the lives of farmers and the poor will be made further miserable. The new farm acts must be repealed and the farmer’s struggle against these acts needs the support of the whole of India.
