So I superimposed Matthew Bright's (Squeezit) lips, which turned out funnier than we planned. I use this as a warning to actors who don't do their lines the way I want. I recently was watching a Fleischer doc and there was a distinct change in style from when they were a poor studio in New York and their toons reflected the gritty life, to when they got a posh studio in Miami and their work became colorized and polished.

The guy turned out to be very camera shy and froze up, so another set of lips were superimposed over his face to make the bit work. Fun fact: director Richard Elfman uses this scene as a warning any time a person gives him any grief about their lines!

Seeing this is color...well, it just ain't right. I was always under the impression it was suppose to be in B & W given the influence/homage of The Three Stooges, Max Fleischer, silent films, Swing-era, etc. So I'm not buying Elfman's new "oh, it was always supposed to be in color" line.

Thankfully I've never seen all of the "I need quick cash and no one cares about Shrunken Heads so I'll rerelease FZ in color and claim that was always my intention despite the fact it contradicts the entire concept of the movie (1930s era stuff) so it won't look like the quick cash grab it is" version. If people like the color version, have at it. But to me, colorizing negates the whole concept of the film. It's like doing a homage to technicolor films in B & W. Kinda negates the point. So I stand by my original statement.

Really weird movie. Interesting genre. Absurd beyond description. But watching it, can't help but admire the creativity. Elfman is an amazing talent, love Oingo Boingo. The Princess boobs were a treat....I can only imagine how much fun they had making the film. RHPS was similar, first time I was 'wtf did I just watch'. Then saw it another 50 or so times.

Like anyone who wants to deconstruct. They make things ugly and shocking (and confusing… because confusion is the smokescreen from one who doesn’t want you to immediately see how shallow they are).
