I lived in Surprise Az while Mike was working on the head design. I went to his house a few times to talk cars and he came to my how a few times to help me figure out timing issues and vacuum leaks. I really appreciated all the help Mike gave me with my Oz head. I stopped following Classic Inlines after moved a few time (military) and eventually I sold my 65 i6 Mustang done up in Dodge Viper blue with white stripes. Every once in a while I would check out the forum to see how folks were doing. I was deeply saddened when I read about Mike's passing. He was a great guy and someone I called my friend.

Loved having mine hoping Paul can get it functional. I’m also nagging him to put a t-5 behind it because that really woke it up!

Can't believe I didn't see this video earlier. I'm working on a MegaSquite 3 SPFI system using the cam shaft fuel pump lobe for my cam trigger. I got mine from Matt, it is serial number 020. Thanks for sharing!

Couple months after Classic Inlines Mike passed, prior to Vintage Inline Matt starting up, I bought one of the Classic heads through WIll McClearan (I know I have the name and spelling wrong), a fiend of the family who was assisting in disposition of stock. Had it sent to a head porter , who fabbed a manifold for it using six Kawasaki KZ1000 carbs. Project stalled when I moved 1200 miles away from my shop space. Hope in the next year or so to move back, finish the engine (70 200" six from a Maverick), rebuilt the way one would do a performance rebuildin 1979- thirty over forged TRW pistons, resized rods, head cut 60 thousanths, 289 springs, cam from who knows where (hey- it's been almost 25 years) Anyway, when complete I want to swap it into my MGC. We'll see how far I get with that

Greetings Jeff, I bought a 200 Ford long block from you on June 2, 2018. It was (is) special, with a AU 250 2V head. I never finished my '66 Mustang restoration, but everything is well packaged and climate controlled. Hope all is going well with you. Robert

Oh how i entreatied the gods of simiplicity,speed and the banishment of the lowly asthmatic Ford 200 inline 6 cylinder head..i never knew they existed until i went to Australia and saw one (1989) I bought it sneaked it aboard the ship and hid it in the engineroom (I was Navy at the time) Excited to bolt it onto the 200 in my 65 falcon...but it disappeared from the hobby shop at Pearl Harbor...and the door slammed shut on that idea

I just rebuilt my 200 to Fords Inline Six Performance manual minus the head to the letter with a 264/274 cam, DUI distributor, shaved .100 off the head, flat top +.30 pistons, Weber 1v/2v carb ect ect....and still have no real power output even with the 6 to 2 header. Not sure why there wasn't a significant difference or change in power.
@mechtrician1
@mechtrician1 Ай бұрын
@@1957goldfinger it’s still a single barrel head? If so, yeah it won’t be much different. You have to open up the head to a 2V.

@@mechtrician1 without purchasing the Vintage Inline aluminum head which is no longer being produced i guess I'm stuck with a no-go motor even with all the new components installed. I don't think an old 250 head would make much difference. Well...I tried.

@@1957goldfinger you’re not stuck. Modify a 250 head for a 2V. Very common modification.

why waste yur time on a 200? Find a 7 main 250..come on man.
@mechtrician1
@mechtrician1 5 ай бұрын
No one asked or cares for your opinion. And all 250s and 200s are 7 main. 144/170s had 4 or 7. Putting a 250 in a mustang requires modified mounts and a different bell housing. Not to mention this is the original block which I think is kinda cool. Come on, man.
