Ford 300, 274 cam, straight pipe

Just for fun I took off the mufflers, and welded in some pipe in their place. It's got Hedman header, to dual 2" pipes, then after the point of mufflers it necks down to 1.75". The pipes end just behind the axle.

@GunsmithMMG It's for backing up, and upon occasion shining people with their brights on. It actually gets with it pretty good. It would be better with proper gearing, and a few tweaks here & there.

@Mintfooter I'm selling the 6.6, and keeping this 300. If business gets better, I may just get an F600 with a 6.6 already in it.

That lasted just a few days. I put the mufflers back on this afternoon. It's just too loud. My ears were ringing after driving it to and from work.

The cam & lifters cost $140, hard to beat.

I noticed the lights on the rear bumper.. Are those to bright light the people bright lighting you? lol Seriously though. I love the sound of the truck. I bet it runs pretty strong with that cam in it.

I dont have a Gmail chat, just yahoo. Or, if you catch me on one of the 30+ forums I'm on. It's that whole bump going the length of the body side that gives the "bump" in bumpside. They look better than the Dentsides!

It was just a cam and lifter kit. I ordered it from Oregon Cam Grinding. Great price too.

Runs better than the 302 I had in my 48 F1. Way better torque. A 302 shouldnt be in a pickup that has to work.

302 could cruise on the highway. But towing or work horse, she couldn't do. My 300 out pulls my uncle's 352 Ford dump truck. 300 was best motor ever built, how loud was it without muffler? I'm subscribed

@@Quint1836 , it was nasty loud. It lasted a week or so, then I put glasspacks on it.
