It will make it return to stock power at a certain rpm, yes. This adjustment is more of a secondary adjustment. Do the fuel nut on the back of the pump. Then, if it doesn’t have the response you like, you can adjust this screw to help it “get out of the hole” quicker.

Yes, with the right tune, the MaxxForce is a great performer. Huge improvement on this particular truck that was 245hp before this tune/reflash. That 95 with the 6.5 can be done, but I think that was the year the pump went electronic. It would have to get programmed. @@BrandonDrew87 , I would say to first double check every other adjustment you’ve made. Another way it can stick is if you adjusted the screw on top, under the 3/8” Allen head. If that backs off too far, it will hit the top of the inside of the pump and act like a runaway. If that’s not it, remove each delivery valve holder and spray some good penetrating oil in there. You mentioned the stock pumps with ~19mm of rack travel is about all it can give. Is there a way to measure that? And will the rack bottom out or can you give it more travel than necessary?
@nevrenufhp2 жыл бұрын
That’s all the travel it gives back there. Take the fuel nut off to allow max travel, then adjust the star wheel to take the tension off its spring. Then, it will have all the travel available. The screw on top will give it 100% fuel (21mm) to make it start quicker. For checking rack travel, the pump would have to come off to access the rack plug on the front.

Will adjusting the rack travel on the rear of the pump (and the external high idle stop) affect the no load high idle speed? Do the gov springs have to be adjusted after this?
@nevrenufhp3 жыл бұрын
It will allow it to get to the governed speed quicker. Some of these were so horribly adjusted, that they would barely rev to 2300. You would adjust the gov springs if you wanted more rpm. Very rarely does anyone ever want less rpm.
