2 questions: (1) My clutch kit didn't have grease for the forks. What type grease is best for this?; (2) should I grease the input shaft to make seals easier to install or not - what grease would be best if I should? Great set of videos !!!!!!!

@StephenLowe-y6d I'd use some moly grease and no, I wouldn't put too much on the shaft.

Watching your other videos to work on this 2014 focus DCT .. also have a 2015 I'm doing after this one. Ever run into the tool not pulling the input shaft seal? So freaking frustrated. screwing down the tool just spins the shaft now and I can't get it to sit and pull out. Any advice? picks don't seem to be able to get under and pull it loose.

Sorry to hear. I've had to grind down the end of the seal extractor before in this situation (removing part of the smaller end) which allows the tool to bite in right away

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles I got it. Had to walk away from it for a couple of hours to clear my head :) I took a small straight pick and tapped it between the wall and seal and caused a small indent in towards the spine. That allowed the tool to get a better bite and it pulled out. The inner part was a pain but I ground down two small right angle picks so it would fit and managed to work it out. On to the next curse inducing problem.

@@BigBensCarsAndCycles Thank you! Getting ready to do my sons 2014 focus. Lost reverse , so I popped out actuator b and I realized the shift fork is toast and lost its recoil. So a Luk clutch kit it is. I appreciate your help and videos.

Huge issue. I took out my newly installed clutch and forks ect… to do the Input shaft seals. When I put the new seals in and the clutch back in the clutch won’t sit fully now and I can’t get the first snap ring on. Do you know the issue?

Thank you! You have been a great help. Everyone looking to fix their cars I recommend his videos! Only thing is I hope I didn’t damage the shaft from hitting it hard with a hammer (was my fault)
