See the lower ball joint rubber boot was split when you dropped the arm, same happened to me so got a boot replacement kit for the mk2 ST , split in the same place too

@@jonyr1TT I bought pair of new ones GSP left it a new shop mechanic at low price, 3 days later knocking tickling sounds, how is this even possible my old ones lasted 230k kms

Have you looked underneath to check the long driveshaft middle clamp to the car bodie as been been fitted?

You don't need to, not a lot comes out and it's easier just to add a top up to replenish it
