Foreign wife visits Indian husband's village for the 1st time - Meeting my Haryanvi in-laws

I had been waiting for this visit for several years! I've been living and travelling all over India for more than four years, but I had never before been to my Indian husband's ancestral villages in the rural region that is located at at the border of Rajasthan and Haryana. But finally we got the opportunity to make this short trip happen while we were visiting my in-laws in Jaipur for a month. This also meant that I got to meet my husband's nani (maternal grandmother) for the very first time, which was a very important and special thing for me to do. Nani is the only living grandparent to the both of us and I wanted to make sure get to meet her.
The life in this region, in the villages and farms can be very challenging and lots of hard work. I wouldn't necessarily survive a whole life there, but I loved spending a few days experiencing my Indian family's roots and history. In those rough conditions, we get to experience more gratitude: it's mostly family, spirituality and being able to have a meal that matters.

Actually she didn't feel anything, because parents are amazing other family members so supportive, very easily coexistence 👍👍 and in last both culture mixed without any hesitation, not like Arabian culture that so much problem and most of time both families never United as before contract marriage you need convert into that religion that useally derogatory especially global coexistence society , wearing burqa etc

The lady has amazing patience and big heart. In my experience she would have failed many Indian wifes in the way she patiently learned about the new system which most urban women would fail to adjust. Makes me respect her ! I Just want to say that. i have seen alot of same kind of relationship like you and vinod bhaiya. But never seen like that. @@JohannaNorth Agree with your point, but aren't there imperfection everywhere? This world isn't so perfect.. isn't it? I am not talking about "asshole in-laws" but I am talking about a mix of more positives and less negatives in the family.. I think there comes the adjusting with family. Doing basic household chores of your home (if she thinks it's her home after marriage) doesn't call her to be a maid... but this is a new mentality of these ladies... again it's all about patience and smile. Since you come from an absolutely different background, they (your in laws) aren't expecting much from you and I hope you don't get to talk or see the "super conservative" men/women of the family. Ooo u shld have our maal puras also....thy yummy...my nani used to cook always whenever we visited them in our school holidays....vinay is sharp. Luvly village home. Luvly people...luvly Ms North Star....u have so much assimilated into our culture even though it's a rural setup or jaipur or kannur, it's so touching...luvly people from across the world getting together....it's sucha luvly feeling...it is what keeps me coming back here. The charpai ( beds) and the dharri are beautiful. I love village life every where it’s so simple and pure. Ghobi ( cauliflower) looks so tasty. Omg the way that bull looked at her 😂🤣. When I visited Pakistan I thought everyone at the airport were there to greet me lol I thought they were my relatives as they surrounded me 🤣😂happens in places like India and Pakistan but if you go China they’ll keep asking to take pictures with you 🤷‍♀️

1st time I've seen a north Indian village life. So calm. Kerala village & this one is too much different...I think Kerala has no rural places...Camels, temple..soo nice. And yes, u r a very nice & innocent lady.& ur husband is also seems to be a gentleman 🥰

I really liked the way you had a nice time in the village, Indian village. Even most of us would find things pretty overwhelming in such an environment, espwith all the people staring at you. I liked the way you dressed up for the occasion and laughed with the people in your extended family. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

I'm sure life in this kind of a setting would be a challenge for me too, if it was for years and years. But I think it's easy and kind to appreciate wherever I'm visiting at least for a few days :) It's someone else's home after all!

Johanna i am thankfull to youtube that they have suggested me your vlog, visiting haryana with family was my first watch and then i started watching from your first vlog to understand you guys, from last 3 days (friday, sat & sunday) i have spent my time watching all your vlogs (watched few on repeat mode) and i must say you are gem by heart, i cant imagine such kindhearted, super adjustable, idependent, beautiful, responsible, lively natured women. I pray to god that you will get all the happiness in your life. Vinod is also a very kind hearted men and that is the reason i think you guys matched on okc. I am egarly waiting for your upcomming vlogs but i do not want to put pressure on you so take rest, eat good, keep your baby healthy and if your body allows then upload vlogs otherwise i can wait till the delivery. The loveliest, most touching video you have posted so far of how villagers live in India, and Vinod's close-knit family. This is how villagers in Rajasthan live even in modern times, as they did five hundred years ago. I see that the younger generation, young boys, are getting educated, and they speak English, and so things will change inevitably with the passage of time, and Rajasthan villages become modernized, which will lead to change in their life style. Thank you so much, I'm very happy you loved the video! It was very important for me to make too :) Very much hoping for improvements to the life of villages, better accessibility to education, jobs etc, but I hope they'll also be able to avoid the bad sides of "modern life" in the more developed, urban areas.

But younger generation is not ready to work in fields.New ways are not practiced in farming.This is a serious concern.
