For four years, Scott Methven played the bagpipes for all of Queen Elizabeth's official ceremonies, including visits from world leaders. He shares fond memories of his time living at Balmoral Castle.

Scott Methven has so many memories and anecdotes of his time as piper to the Queen. I would love to see a book published. It would be a special treasure that I would love to own.

What do you mean to say there are those who don't love the pipes? The sound of the pipes becon us all to stop and listen. Those pipes are send a message, to opposing Armies that they are about to feel the wrath of the UK and Commonwealth of Nations flee before the field is crossed. They tell us to stop and pay respect to those they are harolding. Ahh the pipes the pipes are calling

That was such a refreshing interview. It was so sweet to hear him tell special moments he shared with the Queen. I loved the story about how she put together a special basket to give to the hospital staff. I can imagine what a surprise that must have been for the recipients.

How wonderful to hear. I hope he knows his service to Her Highness will be looked back upon with pride for generations. My Great Great Grandfather served Queen Victoria as a bodyguard and I treasure that.

That is so amazing!! What a man, what a piper!! I have always wished I could speak English like he does! I loved the way he piped good bye to the queen at her funeral! I was in tears! God bless from Michigan, USA.

What a beautiful story, feel so happy to hear how wonderful the queen was to him and his family and how appreciative Charles was of Scott making the Queen happy. Lovely interview. I prayed for him on the day of the funeral as must have been such a privilege but also heartbreaking when saying goodbye to her.

"Pipes"can play his pipes for me any day. I love hearing them, but outdoors only please. I was in a Legion hall remembering family members from WW1, WW2 with 6 pipers playing indoors. I couldn't hear a thing for 5 minutes after. I'm looking forward to seeing the pipe bands later on Monday. Thank You Queen Elizabeth, and heirs.

The cutest wedding I ever went to was for a couple who had Scottish heritage. The groom wore his kilt. A bagpipe player came down the aisle and walked over to join the organist. I can't remember if he played anything.

Yes it is, QEII was born the same year as my mother and was crowned queen the year I was born. The more I learn of her the more I love her. RIP and Rise to Your Everlasting Glory!
