Used the scimitar series since 2015 and I love it, I primarily play competitive csgo and it’s perfect for me, I’ve grown to love the bulk and weight of this mouse, it’s totally comfortable. And yes the coating has started to wear, but given it’s been five years it’s only just started to show it’s age. The braided cable so far is fine

Hey Brian, I used to have the same issue in terms of thumb cramps after long sessions. I'd recommend inverting your space bar if you haven't already as I fond this to be a huge help. Much love man, thx for the good content

Nice constructive criticism on this mouse's few shortcomings! Hopefully Corsair will listen and update their mice offerings to become competitive in 2020 (or maybe 2021, since 2020 seems to be over before it began 😒). For as crowded as the computer mice market seems to be right now, I still would love to see a heavyweight such as Corsair really taking it seriously and come in guns blazing!!!

Running the Dark Core myself, I upgraded from an M65 and I can say the Corsair soft touch is premium I’ve never had an issue with it degrading unlike other mice. They’ve also nailed wireless I can’t tell any different with it connect or not. The only negative I would give the dark core is that it doesn’t feel as premium to me as the M65 probably due to how heavy the M65 is.

I have been using this mouse for over 2 years. I did the silent trick to the buttons. Yesterday, the scroll wasn't working properly, but I fix it today by cleaning inside. It still looks and works like new.

all i play is fps lately and i use the scimmy. i got crouch/prone/slide, grenades, tacticals, ping/mark, melee, random menus. pretty much everything besides jump and run are on my mouse. its also interesting mapping all movement to your mouse and trying to play fps with no keyboard it feels weird as hell but fun.

I actually have 2 mice set up, my mmo mouse being the scimitar, and fps viper ultimate. Until we see an ultimate version of the deathadder I feel like these are the two best mice for these specific genres hands down.

I use this for fps. Tried all the latest lightweight mice (finalmouse, glorious, coolermaster etc) and i actually aim best with this one! Great for fingertip grip. Super nice mouse & really comfortable:) Also painted the area surrounding the side buttons along with a paracorde and it looks ace!

I love this Mouse, even the old one is great. Just pretty heavy. Put lizard tape around the pinky area to stabelize the pickup. No need to push the left, the top keypad row should stop it from falling as soon as you got the right more firm so it does not tilt there.

The soft touch grip holds up well. Ive been using mine for years.

Given this review, id love to see you review the new Naga pro, specially given you are a viper user, so charging dock compatibility etc.

I have owned the older version of Corsair Scimitar RGB for 6-8 years and have always liked it but I would have liked to see an updated version where the new one is wireless, lighter, and without RGB to save battery for longer use of the mouse. My grip on the mice is a mixture of Palm and Fingertip, it leans more towards Palm with this particular computer mice.

been rocking this mouse for about 2 weeks, it's a good overall mouse but I'm not a fan of right and left clicks they're just not crisp as I'd like but it's still a keeper

Ive been using this mouse for 4 years, 2 different mice, same model. I am absolutely in love with it, ONE issue i have is the rubber grip on the right side, COLLECTS hand grease and is very difficult to clean. but its not a deal breaker for the amount of control this mouse gives me. 8.8/10

Yeah, I been using GPW for more than a year now and yesterday I got a G703 and first game I had 10%more acc than I use to have with the shaft but yeah my rail flicks suffered a tho. I can say that a good and steady grip outweigh low weight.

I just bought this to help me play FPS games, just because I’m playing certain ones that I wanted some easy hotkeys for my abilities. Reaching across the keyboard for some of the hotkeys is really not helping my gameplay. This seems like a solid mouse for both FPS and MMO Thanks for the awesome review!

I have to admit: i use to use the Corsair M65 Pro for fps, then I got a Schmitar and I havent been able to find something else to match. As an fps player I feel like this is a great fps mouse. Your fingers never learn left and right click and you still have 12 actions at the touch of your thumb. I always feel like im weird for using a moba mouse for fps games. The only problem ive ever had with the mouse is the top starting to peel off to show the shiny plastic underneath. However this is also after at least 2 years of daily use for nearly 5-7 hrs a day.

You should try to bind scroll wheel to jump. Most cs:go players do this for bhopping, but you get used to playing with it normally for jumping. I’d genuinely check it out.

currently i have the sabre and its a great mouse that is very comfortable to use but after a few years the scroll click usually doesnt work and the right click doesnt like to stay depressed which is very frustrating in shooters. i do like the two side buttons and sometimes i wish i had just a few more so that is why i am looking at the scimitar. my other peeve is poor LOD and so initially i was looking at a steel series which looked like it would have been a fairly identical experience to the sabre but with the benefit of excellent LOD. i saw that quality control was an issue and customer support was terrible so here i am waiting for my scimitar to arrive in the mail.

The RGB features of this mouse *almost* stopped me from buying it originally. It was during that period where RGB was being introduced into everything computer "gaming" related for the first time. I'm glad I looked past that though. I've had an original Scimitar RGB for years since they were released and it is still in perfect shape. Works just like it's brand new, with all the keys and buttons still solid and clicky. The rubber soft-touch coating hasn't begun to deteriorate, nor does it show signs that it might in the future. This is one peripheral I plan on never replacing until it stops physically working, which, from my experience so far, looks to be a long ways away. In fact, I'll more than likely try to find an exact replacement when that day comes. Tl;dr - When I was a kid, this kind of money for a mouse would have sounded incredible. Now that I'm an adult, it still is, but I've learned you get exactly what you pay for.

I actually upgraded away from the Scimitar to the Model O following your previous reviews. I found myself playing less MOBA/MMO and more FPS and haven't looked back since.

just got this mouse, i just wanna know if i can use the side buttons as empty buttons if that makes sense... so when i play a game and edit my controls, i can just pick a side button to do crouch, melee, etc. without editing my profile in the icue app and having multiple profiles for different games. otherwise i really like this mouse and your beard and mustache are phenomenal

My review on this mouse - large hands Hey guys, I’m currently GM in overwatch primarily playing Widow, recently added echo and tracer. I an arm and wrist style aim depends what I’m playing. Tend to lean to wrist for tracking and I use this mouse. I bought it for World of Warcraft classic and eventually returned to overwatch. I feel the only issue is you accidentally press the side buttons during a stressful encounter. This can throw me off because you’re hand posture shifts, It’s helped me identify a bad habit which forces me to calm myself during play but that’s about it. The heavy feel and solid build really sits comfortably in your hand, but if you play on low sense like I do the constant drag and drop re-positioning of your mouse I tend to notice the right side of my hand cramping which can be uncomfortable during competitive play. (6-8 hour sessions) I’ve only very recently made the switch to a lighter more appropriate mouse for competitive gaming and it’s really improved my ability. Honestly for the price if you’re looking to juggle between mmos and shooters regularly or maybe a hybrid of the 2 this is a great mouse. If you’re shooter player there are far better mice on the market for the same price.

Know I'm a bit behind the ball here, but if you are looking for more buttons on the mouse with the ability to pick up the Roccat Tyon has four buttons (Two left+two right) next to the left and right click plus a 'switch' button to map even more usability to those keys giving you an effective 6 extra keys beside the 5 already there, I don't think it would lend itself at all to a claw grip unless you have some massive fingers, but it's the best solution I've found as someone who bounces between FPS, Space sim, and general work/editing usage.

i just play game occasionally.. all i can say for productivity and since most of my work is audio programming... MMO mouse and gaming mouse is just so GREAT!.. my fav is G502 and the old G600.. for gaming, i'm content with G304 or G203.

I have the pro version of this mouse and man is it awesome! not just when I play my usual MOBA/MMO which I sink a lot of my game time in. But also when I play FPS like Overwatch and KF2, idk why more don't use this method of just having all your skills mapped to a MMO mouse lol? I think it makes things so much easier, it means my left hand doesn't have to search for far keys for when I need to use a skill. If this is anything like the pro then I highly recommend it for anyone looking to get a new mouse, I've had my pro version mouse for about 8-9 months now and I love it.

Oh hey that’s my mouse wtf ahaha, of all the MOBA mice. Glad to see non-FPS mice get some love! I’d actually like to see more if possible (like Razer’s Naga Trinity and Logitech’s G600), I’ve always been curious how they compare to my current MOBA joint

i use it in hunt showdown and its great having every item slot ready on the fly instead of reaching across my keyboard

BadSeed you should review the logitech g604! not as many buttons as the standard mmo mouse but because of that there's a nice empty area to grip and lift the mouse despite it being a moba / mmo mouse.

i currently play both mmos and fps on the scimitar and so far the only issue i have is if the fire fight gets too intense i squeeze the 1 or 2 botton and swap weapons lol

I had one for fps games and its great. i play apex and its so good for bhopping crouching changing sensitivity pinging opening map and stuff. only thing about this mouse is that the scroll wheel easily breaks which is a bummer

This is the mouse I use and I only play FPS shooters having the buttons is amazing, being able to use things like grenades, abilities or switch weapons is a under looked advantage when you can keep your fingers on movement and aiming. I think it just makes sense

This mouse is a great work/productivity mouse (for any job that isn't Pro Gaming!). I recommend it!

Bruh. I use that mouse in fps games as well, I just bind everything to the thumb buttons so my fingers don't leave the movement keys. Crouch, prone, weapon swapping, sliding, reload and most other things. It's a damn good mouse, especially with games that have a ton of multi-button functions, such as Tarkov.

We need a Razer Naga Ultimate! Make it a tad larger like the OG Naga, the Trinity is too small, add pure white PTFE feet, new speedflex paracord cable, new hyperspeed wireless, focus+ sensor and optical switches yet try to go under 100 grams and you're golden Razer! Love the Naga shape for casual gaming and browsing!

Hopefully this mouse doesnt have the same issues with mouse wheel click as it's previous iteration. I love the mouse for MMO's but not registering the middle mouse click sometimes is really annoying

That's why I never got rid of my 502. DPI up and down are sprint and reload for me. Can't switch unless another mouse has those same buttons and isn't garbage. Can't find one that ticks both of those boxes yet

I mean a mouse to compete to this would be the logitech g600. That one has a third mouse click and they have it where the program called g-shift. That basically doubles up your macro buttons.

Its weird but i have my right mouse button and spacebar swapped. So i jump with the mouse, Try it. I had the same complaint and that helped me a lot.

I owned the version before this....the only thing I could say that I did not like, was that it DID NOT come pre programed with the thumb buttons. You needed to map them and keep the iCUE software running. The iCUE software is the bane of all corsair products. Its buggy, some functions just do not work at all. If you were to have the iCue software crash during your game play, YOU LOSE ALL your buttons mince M1, M2, middle click. I had all my skills in Overwatch and WoW programed for these games and the mouse caused so many losses on my end, I had to give it up. I wish I could return it to test the new one. Also, the weight is insanely noticeable going from a light mouse, hell, not even a light mouse.....ANY mouse thats lighter. It does feel good in the hand, the buttons function well, just the software and the weight is awful.
