I've used them in my washer and they are just meant to catch the floating hair and lint. It's NOT meant to remove hair or lint from clothing. It works pretty well for the purpose it's meant for.

Some old washing machines used to have a circular filter that fit on top of the agitator, and the washer would continuously pump the wash water from the drum and run it through the filter. That thing worked wonders. It always caught just piles of lint. Very effective. I was very said what that washer died and we got a "new and better" model that didn't do anything for lint. They need to bring back those continuous filter models. And if you still have one, keep it!

SAME!! My washer died several years ago and I got a new HE washer- aaaaand my clothes are always covered with fur and lint ever since. We don't have a dryer so it's a real problem!

Catching lint isn't the problem - getting it off the clothes to begin with is.

Yeah, that's what I was about to comment - these things are clearly meant to just catch what is loose in the water; these aren't made to pull hair off the clothes.

@@JDM12983 a lot of dog hair comes off in the washer then redeposits. If you cant get lint off I use a cheap razor

Razor blade & vacuum. If you have pets you should prep your clothes if they are extra fuzzy. Another suggestion a little fabric softener & much better results out of the dryer.

Love how Bailey loves being pet, even with some shirts! I have these, and a very sheddy dog. No dryer, so have to line dry, and it does help some. All they do is catch hair and lint that's floating on the top of the water. Better than nothing if you don't have a dryer.

i need these for that purpose and to me if it catches and prevents any amount of hair or lent from going into the pipes then it's worth it (for a reasonable price)

As others have said, the purpose of the product tested here isn't to remove pet hair from clothing, but to catch lint in the wash. A better test would be to check your washer lint filter and compare that with and without the lint catcher. I do enjoy your reviews, sweet pets!

I lived in Japan, where these are really popular. They are used to catch lint because very few people own dryers in Japan. They are great when you air dry clothes.

You might need a set of different clothes for home time with Bailey (“inside clothes”) that can get hairy and (“outside”) clothes you only wear at work and in the city. The latter are kept away from the hair and the lint in the home as much as possible and are washed separately, too. This system helps me a lot with the cat hair.

I do see a bit of a difference between the with and without loads, even if most of it got caught in the dryer. Given that, I'd really be curious to see those four shirts with extreme Bailey hair get washed with both these catchers _and_ the Fur Zapper together in the same wash to see if that does anything! Idea for a quick follow-up video maybe? ;-)

I agree with Snertyo, getting new lint trap would be good, maybe some of the hair & lint are escaping through the hole as well. Even though traps did not do such a great job. The old hairs may be woven in by now & will need extra work to get them completely and maybe keep new hairs from intertwining. I just got my lint traps so will have to test it. Maybe Bailey needs to be brushed more often & would love the extra attention as well. Thanks for video.

Love your videos!! These things are only meant to save your washer from lint build up in the drain... not really supposed to remove from clothing. Wish they made something like this for front loaders!

I ordered 2 last year. They were always empty (and I had a longhaired kittie) and they broke after 2 washings, both of them. So not a fan. I bought them to keep the pipes not clogged.

I have an older washer, and I line dry 100% of the time, I have 2 white dogs, both medium/short length hair, one is big (half pit bull, half boxer) the other is small (chihuahua), I have lots of white dog hair on all of my clothing, and everything else. I try to wear lighter colored clothing, I really miss wearing black... I just ordered a few of these from Temu, I'm hoping it makes a difference. Thanks for all you do! You are one of my go-to reviewers, I know I can trust you.

great videos! its interesting that your control matched the lint catchers and the furzapper. do you think if you retry the furzapper that it might get the same results while the control might match the lint catcher results?

If you have a bunch of hair on your laundry run them through your dryer first. Just set the dryer on no heat.

I hang up the hairy shirts out of the dryer and get my lint brush out. I don’t think there’s anything out there that can remedy this problem in the washer or dryer. You’d think someone could come up with something that would work pretty well. I don’t expect 100% hair free, but close to it if I’m buying one of these things. Thanks for your reviews. Always informative and fun to watch.

Hair gets between the fibers, making tumbling and agitation nearly worthless. A lint roller works much better than anything else I've found.

What works best for me for me is to use Downy in the rinse cycle but putting the things with the pet hair or lint on them in the dryer on air dry BEFORE you wash them. Most of the hair ends up in the dryer lint trip and very little ends up in the washer to start with. The Downey works well to get the rest off in the rinse before drying with heat.

I highly suggest the BOUNCE pet hair dryer sheets!!! We have 3 big hairy dogs and 5 (yes 5 😆) cats! Those sheets are amazing!!

I love mine. I also have wool balls in my dryer. So any residual hair from the wash comes off in the dryer! Have you ever reviewed wool dryer balls?

Question: Did you use liquid fabric softener or dryer sheets? I would think that would cut down on hairy dry shirts due to less static cling.

For top loading machines only, which almost nobody has in the Netherlands hahaha. We mostly have front loading washers and dryers. Thanks for another great review, not gonna waste any money on these. 😁

Yes i use one i have 3 dogs and 3 cats so we have lots of hair on our clothes. We use a small washer for apartments that we got off of amazon for 70 bucks, we dont use dyer we line dry our clothes, i live a hour from vegas. The mesh lint remover gets quite a bit of stuff in it each load. So for us it works good.

They do work, they do not last long BUT life can be extended by sewing around the edge and sewing the top around the round part, quite durable for this purpose. Hair comes out in the dryer and lint comes out in washer.

I have one of these and for my manual washer, they work really well. Keeps the lint, fur and hair from getting into the tub when I drain it. For a couple of bucks, it's worth it.

I have used these in my modern front loading washing machine and they do work at catching the cat hair in the washing water for easy removal -before it goes into your drain. They are not for removing hair from your clothes. However both times I purchased they broke after only a couple of uses in the machine. I wish a UK company would make a more robust version.

James I love what you do. Thanks so much . By chance have you yet seen the commercial for the "Dr. Ho's Decompression Belt"? Decompression is way different than a typical belt. The hoaky people in that commercial are totally bogus too. Let me know if you ever intend to give it a try thanks again

Ok, so just a thought, (I will admit I didn't watch the full video from start to finish). However, could the hair that is left on the shirt be residual hair that was still in the dryer? Would it have been a more accurate presentation if you were to either completely clean your dryer out, or not dry them in the dryer at all, and only put them through the wash and hang to dry?

I have a washer that doesn't have any lint catchers built into the drum, so I think these might be useful if you have a washer that's similar.

Just out of curiosity, I checked if the seller I bought these things from was still there. Mine is still there, but now these lint catchers have only 1 star reviews 👎definitely had no reviews when I bought them. I should’ve known better and waited for your review before ordering it.

Bought those floating things for cat hairs, doesn't really works 100% on cat hairs but it did caught a good amount of the hairs... And it did work great for papers... I left some paper in my pants pockets... And those things caught most of the tore up wet paper... Been using this thing ever since... Better than nothing...

Can you find and test dryer products that stop static? Dryer sheets cause duct work of the dryer to become sticky and collect lint, which in turn can cause a fire.... aluminum foil ball in the dryer is just plain dangerous...using liquid fabric softener in the wash doesn't seem to help much (and unfortunately for me, makes me itchy). Curious if any nifty products out there actually work, are safe for your clothes and your machine

In every washing machine I've ever owned, the top section of the centre spindle lifts out and there is one of these mesh baskets at the bottom, which has to be cleaned out after every wash. Being in the centre, and low down, the washing action concentrates the fluff and lint there and it can get very full! Don't American washing machines have one of these lint catchers built in? Since Australian machines (in my decades of experience) already have one of these, adding floating ones as well would just add more things to clean afterwards, and divide the lint up instead of it all collecting together!

I don’t use my dryer for a lot of my clothes so I was thinking this might help. My top loading washer always leaves huge streaks of visible dust on my clothes, so I might give this a try. Will report back.

Now you should buy and try the ceramic washing machine balls. Or bio ceramic balls. Look up the wash wizard. It's a ball that says you can use instead of laundry detergent.

I cover the vent of my dryer with a knee high nylon stocking. My dryer is vented to the inside of my home thus keeping the dryer heat inside my home helping to heat ithe house and the nylon stocking collects all the leftover lint and hair.

So I just bought some of these off of Amazon. Here is what the "instruction" sheet says. 1) please us Pulsator machine instead of drum.... Pics of a green check mark top load and red ex on front load 2) only filters floating hair and light weight debris. It also has limited effect on pet hair sticking to clothes. 3) the round filter should be taken out during the dehydration stage, otherwise it will be easily damaged......did they watch your video????

I have those exact ones and two broke first time using them in a portable washing machine. One the mesh came completely off the second the plastic pieces holding the flower to the mesh broke

I have one of those. It's a lint catcher not a lint remover. They are not ment for top load washers that have center agitator or front load he. Center agitator agitates clothes by quickly turning left and right. Front load he uses to little water only at bottom of washer. Those lint catchers are made for top load washers with no center agitator. The washer rolls the clothes around since there is no center agitator and the lint catcher needs to float all around with the clothes. It does work but with specific machines.

Another subscriber I watch did some laundry with 2 balls of aluminum foil to break static electricity. I'm wondering if that's why the hair is still clinging to your clothes?? I think you should try using both and see what happens.

I am using these now and it keeps that fur from remaining in the tub of the washer like it used to. I have three horses and a big shedding dog and these things REALLY pick it up in them, after you have to pay rotor rooter to come out and unlog your sewer drain you want to keep all the hair out of that drain that you can when I clean mine out every time I get a wad out of each one like a half a cotton ball. I just went online and bought a few more. Oh you cant over load the machine. they need room to float freely on top of the water

Saw an ad for these (or something like it) on my Facebook page. I wrote to the seller asking if it could be used in a front loader since I didn't see it mentioned. This was two months ago... I'm still waiting for an answer.

do you think you could do this experiment with some longer hair? I'm currently losing a lot of hair due to rapid weight loss from bariatric surgery, and aside from the mental and physical effects of losing hair, my clothes are now covered in hair. It's impossible to pick off every strand of hair. If you could do that to help me out, that'd be great!

I have a front loader. No lint problems. Top loaders that I have used had loads floating on top. Always an argument with my mother, I swear that front loaders are better, she disagrees. Also locally people have been using nylon stockings as filters for years.

So did you figure out how to clean the lint trap in your washer? 😂 I have a border collie, jack Russell and two indoor cats.. 🥰 I was curious about these things but doesn’t seem like it would bring me any satisfaction to spend money on them!
