I was given some fresh blueberries today and I decided to make a good blueberry pie! It's one of the easiest pies you can make. I like to eat it warm with ice cream on top, but today I'm going to show you how to make real whipping cream to go on top!

I remember back when I was a child, once you took a bath/shower, that was it, you didn't step foot outside for the rest of the night. Or, when my mom cleaned up the kitchen after supper, she shut the big lights off and turned on the little light above the sink. That meant the kitchen was closed and you best not dirty any dishes or you better be prepared to wash them yourself or you were getting scorned. I called it 'mom put the kitchen to bed!'

Miss Brenda, I was told recently that it can take up to 5 years for a blueberry plant to start really producing fruit! Thank you for the pie recipe!

Typically, blueberries take 3-6 years to bear fruit, so I can't tell you anything about the fruit, but the plants grew very well last year and are strong and healthy now. Both thrive in zones 5-9. So, it depends on where you live as to how long fruit will produce.

I had a 30 yr old blueberry bush entwined with 2 others. It grew so big it looked like a tree! We had so many berries we were always able to share with family, friends, and neighbors. In my new home, I've planted 2 blueberry bushes and plan to plant at least 2 more. These were sold as 3 yr plants, and I'm already getting berries off them this summer!

Not true it takes only about 2-3 years. I have 4 bushes and 2 of them are only about 3 yrs old

I have six blueberry bushes that are only 2 years old. They produced berries this year. Grant it, there were but a few! But the plants are only 2 to 3 feet tall and not but a few branches

I watched your video and I’ve made many blueberry pies, always cooking the blueberries. Your recipe is so much easier and (the best part) I made it without measuring!!! And it was delicious thank you for teaching an old dog a new truck! I’m 75 years old.

Brenda my grandmother used to make blueberry pie for us all the time. We would go picking the berries with her, she gave us all a coffee can with a string to carry the can around hanging from our necks. Then when we got to her house she would make pies just like you made this one Brenda. Thank you for bringing my memory of that back to me.

My Dad cut down the 2 big blueberry bushes after Mom died. He’s now in Heaven with her. I have started letting them grow back up. I love raw blueberries, but not fond of them cooked. I have some of Mom’s dishes now. It makes me feel closer to her. I have the coffee cups her and Dad always drank out of. His is older than me (51). It’s the little things that mean the most.

No Brenda we don't have air conditioning cuz last night it got down into the 40s. That makes my house cool enough to last until it gets real hot and then it just stays just right. Love you Brenda. I'll have to send you a recipe of my pie crust it is so easy you don't have to roll it out in flour I never have you won't believe what I use. It's so easy and not messy. I make my pie crust then wrap it up and put it in the freezer, it is so so easy. God bless and take care I think a lot of you kiddo you do a great job.

I have always been that way too always washed my feet before I go to bed and I still do and I’m 73 ! My cousin would laugh at me when I spent the night at her house and I would always ask if I could wash my feet before bed and I did she would ask me why and I told her I liked clean feet and it made me sleep better 😊 God bless you Brenda and good night 😴

I grew up with no a/c in Michigan. We had 1 box fan and that was used by Mom and Dad. To this day my Dad does not have a/c. He lives in Michigan and has all his life. To me his house is like an open oven! Whew!!! Thanks for sharing the Blueberry Pie receipe.

Hey Brenda! Put unused coffee around bottom of your blueberry bushes and it don’t take long and you will have lots of berries!! I did this to mine this year and I have never had so many berries before! I love watching you cook here in Westfield North Carolina!!

I put black pepper, balsamic vinegar, pinch of cinnamon and a very little vanilla... so very good! Done it on cherries too.. i love the cherries best! Used honey to sweeten.. cooked two cups of the fruit on top of the stove, temp in a couple egg yokes with everything above.. made a perfect thick sauce. Best PIE EVER! LOVE MAKING PIE! A CREAM CHEESE CRUST makes the best flavor combo...❤

Hi, Ms. Brenda!!! ❤ I live in Michigan and we have AC. I wish the person that told you it doesn’t get hot in Michigan was correct, but they aren’t. Not only does it get hot, we have humidity. Not as frequently humid as Georgia or down where you are, but we see 90-100% humidity during the summer. We do get breaks from the hot temps every now and again though and that helps.

I melted last week -- it was SO hot and humid here in the Hudson Valley. This year I did not put in my window air conditioners --- but my 24 house windows did not help one bit! Just fans and did my outdoor work at the crack of dawn and sat under the shade tree until sunset! Went to my daughter's families new house in New Hampshire --- it was 62 degrees!! A beautiful respite and visit for my William's 5th birthday. My goodness where does the time go!!

I have some blueberry bushes and one of them is an Ozark Blueberry Bush.. and it has the best flavored blueberries .I only have one of those kind the other one is a different variety.. but both of them make good tasting berries . I’m but I think the Ozark is a better bush it produces a lot of big berries..You can’t beat a good blueberry pie just a little warm from the oven and a big blob of vanilla ice cream!Yum!Blessings💕

Ms. Brenda, the things that you say, when you were younger. We were younger 6,7 8, and go to uncle George and Aunt Mary house spend 2,3 nights during the summer. When the evening came our uncle would get the wash tub and we sit on the porch and wash our feet. I remember we # 2 and # 3 wash tubs at home and at Aunt Mary. that's what we washed in.. and we said wash rags also. This was back in the 50 .God bless ❤
