Күн бұрынSeason 04, Episode 109 (day nineteen): hey squad. we received a few inches of fresh snow overnight here in utah, so i decided to head up to canyons village at park city mountain for a few turns. there was still only the same one run open off saddleback express, but it always feels nice to ski some real snow. we also brought out the armada arv jj 116 for the first time this season. thanks for watching.

Hey Lucas! I was introduced to the JJ after ACL surgery, during the 2011-12 season. I skied them as my dedicated ski until 2017. They were so fun and easy to ski, and there is something magical about clicking into those skis for sure. I still ski the JJ, but in the UL version. I also just ordered the ARV 100, and hope to get them on the slopes soon. All these years of skiing Armada , and I never paid attention to their clothing until I watched your videos. I just ordered some Armada soft gear. Even to a 60 year old, their clothing looks dope. A salute to the late JP Auclair and Julien Regnier for designing the JJ; it revolutionized the ski industry! Every time I get on those skis, I silently thank those guys.

thank you SO much man! really appreciate that extra leg of support. i really think the JJ is one of the most solid skis out there. its kind of hard to describe, but you start to realize its greatness slowly over time as the ski is used more and more. the ARV 100 was super intriguing to me initially - i just dont like how its not edgeless on the tip and tail! thanks again man!

ive been to both before last year. park city is 7300 skiable acres, lake louise is 4200 and sunshine 3300. so park city is nearly twice as big as those mountains :D

I think what I am finding out is that when the skis get longer and wider it takes some of the reactiveness out of the ski.. I hear you say that the skis are softer but I would challenge you on that because I have seen you on those skis on some steep tight chutes and it sure seams like those skis held.. Are they softer or less reactive or both? Do they hold good on tight steep and sometimes icy chutes.. Do they stick a landing? I have a cold this week and I think it is the perfect week for it.. There are a ton of people on the slopes with not much open.. The fresh snow looked good but dealing with all those people and especially all the kids is a problem for me..

Do you know how your 116s would compare to Bent Chetler 110 or 120? I heard those skis are really soft..

the 116 and bent chetlers are pretty similar! both are all wood skis with edgeless tips and tails!

i carry my big camera, 2 lenses, a microphone, a long selfie stick and the gopro boom mount.

You can also carry extra gloves hat and jacket in case you want to remove lawyers or carry extra layers for your kids

Anyone have an opinion I’m looking at either the arv 106 or the new 100. Like the weight and playfulness of the 100s but the powder capability and stability of the 106s while they still look playful enough.

Depends where you ski and what else you have in your quiver. If you get decent snow and no other skis id say 106
