This is a video in my new Core Concepts series -- designed to provide students and lifelong learners a brief discussion focused on one main concept from a classic philosophical text and thinker.
This Core Concept video focuses on Friedrich Nietzsche's classic work of existentialist literature, Genealogy of Morals, specifically on the figure that he calls "the priest", which introduces a new valuation. With the priest, Nietzsche tells us, the human being becomes an interesting animal.

Sir another great video You make a very profound and fascinating point following 6:00 That in essence one of the very origins of the priestly class was that of advice or commandments, an assortment of do’s and don’ts As you so eloquently say - if you have leprosy stay away from everyone else we have to purify you Don’t have sex with dirty men or women - We can see how these are a set of quite literal decrees to Mitigate the spread of disease and other such elements. Consequently it is only with this basis that such decrees are elaborated on and developed as it pertains to morality, hence the inception of the priestly class. I hope I’ve understood your point correctly if not please correct me. Thanks so much for this point when I read genealogy of morals I glossed over this aphorism without recognising the importance of it
