The way to help kids like this is to create youth programs which focus on education. I grew up in a shitty area like this with people doing crime and no role models. Maybe I'm weird because seeing people suffer around me was my biggest motivator to succeed. Whereas most people will unfortunately succumb to their negative surroundings I think and not explore there full potential. I think the best thing is to improve there mindset on education. I believe education is the key. I hope soon that if I become successful enough I can go to these troubled areas and open foundations for the youth which focus on improvement and education and help them. Because it saddens me to see kids with great potential not fulfill them.

Instead of all the naming and shaming and assumptions and judgements can we all take a moment to appreciate what a masterpiece of journalism and documentary making this short series is. Is anyone else questioning why its not shown on BBC 1, national television, rather than in short bursts on they're Internet channel. It's a clear and true dipiction of the disparity, austerity and sheer fuckery that so many call reality in 'Great Britain' (this includes all skin colours and ethnicities). We are all immigrants! Mad to think those stats that were written at the end about 2020 were estimated before the Pandemic hit, they're likely tenfold now. We can point fingers and we can judge but we will never know how we would act or react until we experience such things for ourselves. Biological resilience and temperament play a big part in this. Be kind and be nice, life is short. Nameste. Peace and love. Don't be a dick!

@@fabriceotshudi3749 Mate the trinity isn't even in the bible. Jesus isn't mentioned as God in the bible. Bible Verses That Indicate Jesus Is Not God The Creator 1. Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the Son, but the Father only. Here Jesus makes a distinction between what he knows and what the Father knows. 2. Matthew 26:39 My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me, yet not as I will, but as Thou will. Jesus’ will is likewise autonomous from God’s Will. Jesus is seeking acquiescence to God’s will. 3. John 5:26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. Jesus received his life from God. God received his life from no one. He is eternally self-existent. 4. John 5:30 By myself, I can do nothing: I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who has sent me. Jesus says, “by myself, I can do nothing.” This indicates that Jesus is relying upon his own relationship with God. He is not trying to “please myself” but rather is seeking to “please the one who sent me.” 5. John 5:19 The Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees the Father doing, because whatever the Father does, the Son does also. Jesus declares that he is following a pattern laid down by God. He is expressing obedience to God. 6. Mark 10:18 Why do you call me good? No one is good, except God alone. Here Jesus emphatically makes a distinction between himself and God. 7. John 14:28 The Father is greater than I. This is another strong statement that makes a distinction between Jesus and God. 8. Matthew 6:9 Our Father, which art in Heaven. He didn’t pray, Our Father, which art standing right here!” 9. Matthew 27:46 My God, My God, why hast thou forsaken me? Inconceivable if he is God the Creator. 10. John 17:21-23 . . .that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. . ..that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. In this prayer Jesus defines the term “to be one.” It is clearly accomplished through the relationship of two autonomous beings. Christian believers are to model their relationship (to become one) after the relationship of God and Christ (as God and Christ are one). Notice that “to be one” does not mean to be “one and the same.” 11. 1 Corinthians 15:27-28 For he "has put everything under his feet." Now when it says that "everything" has been put under him, it is clear that this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ. When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all. Paul declares that God put everything under Christ, except God himself. Instead God rules all things through Christ. (remember: “through him all things were made.”) 12. Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being. Jesus is the exact representation of his being. I send my representative to Congress. He is not me, myself. He is my representative. 13. Hebrews 4:15 (compared with James 1:13) For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet without sin. Jesus has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet he never sinned. See James 1:13: When tempted, no one should say, God is tempting me. For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt. Jesus was tempted in every way, but God cannot be tempted. This is why Jesus said, “don’t call me good, none are good, only God.” 14. Hebrews 5:7-9 During the days of Jesus' life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him Jesus had to walk a course of faith and obedience in order to achieve perfection. By achieving perfection, Jesus “became” the source of eternal salvation 15. Debut 6:4 MOSES SAYS THIS: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one… (carries on) Mark 12:29 JESUS REPEATS THIS AFTER 600 YEARS: Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

@@fabriceotshudi3749 Have reasonable faith not blind faith! You need to look at other religions before you say yours is correct. Why the bible isn’t word of god? How long did the Israelite's dwell in Egypt 430 years or 215 years? Mathematics is the language of nature. They do so mainly because the progress that physics has made in the last four centuries stands as further evidence that Galileo was basically right. What there is a lot more debate about is whether the effectiveness and indispensability of mathematics is a significant observation that invites explanation, or it’s absolutely as would be expected, or it’s just a brute inexplicable fact about the world. Physicists tend to keep out of such debates, leaving them to the philosophers of physics and mathematics. Let’s start by tracing back to the Galileo quote. He didn’t use theistic language at all. He talked about the Universe and Philosophy: Philosophy is written in this grand book I mean the universe which stands continually open to our gaze, but it cannot be understood unless one first learns to comprehend the language in which it is written. It is written in the language of mathematics, and its characters are triangles, circles, and other geometric figures, without which it is humanly impossible to understand a single word of it; without these, one is wandering about in a dark labyrinth. In other words, you cant lie about maths. The mind cant do that. I believe God gave mathematics for mankind to use it to determine truth. Many times my post is for us to research more on falsehood in what you claim Truth. Corinthians 14:33 “For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.” i believe in this verse but does the bible go along with it? Lets pick one 1st. The idea that the children of Israel lived in Egypt for 430 years is mathematically incorrect. If we carefully study the timeline, we find that the Bible makes a serious mistake in calculating the length of time dwelt in Egypt by the Children of Israel. Exodus 7:7 Moses was 80 years old Exodus 6:20 Amram was 137 years old Exodus 6:17 Kohath was 133 years old Genesis 46:11 Kohath was the son of Levi when they went to Egypt genesis 46:26 with Jacob Let’s assume Kohath was a new born baby when he went to Egypt. And let’s assume Amram was born the year his father passed away, and let’s assume Moses was born the year his father passed way 133 + 137 + 80 = 350 Which means, the amount of the spent in Egypt would have been no longer than 350 years maximum. Now more than likely Amaram was not a baby when he arrived to Egypt, and it's more than likely Kohath was not born the year his father passed away, and it’s more than likely Moses was not born the year his father passed way. This means the amount of time spent in Egypt would have been significantly less than 350 years. so why does Exodus 12:40 say the time Israelites spent in Egypt was 430 years? Now the length of time the Israelite people lived in Egypt was 430 years. (Exodus 12:40) In one of the letters of Paul to Galatians we read: This is what I am trying to say: The agreement God made with Abraham could not be canceled 430 years later when God gave the law to Moses. God would be breaking his promise. (Galatian 3:17) Basically, what Paul is saying from the time Abraham received his promise to the time Moses received his law there was 430 years. Let’s do the maths Abraham received the promise when he entered Canaan when he was 75 Genesis 12:3-5,7. then 25 years later when Abraham was 100 years old, that’s when Isaac was born Genesis 21:5. then 60 years later when Isaac was 60 years old, that’s when Jacob was born Genesis 25:26. then a 135 years later when Jacob was 130 years old that’s when all of Israel arrived in Egypt Genesis 47:9. So add 25 + 60 + 130 = 215 which means there’s 215 years from the time that Abraham entered Canaan to the time all of Israel arrived in Egypt Now Moses received the law the same time they left Egypt, so Paul is saying there was 430 between Abraham and Moses. And according to the Old Testament there is 215 between Abraham and Jacob entering Egypt. So take 430 and subtract 215 and that equals to 215 years, which means the amount of time the Israelites were in Egypt was 215 years. (215 in Egypt 215 in Canaan) 430 total. Now that's mathematically possible. Flavius Josephus a 1st century Jewish Historian mentions: "They left Egypt…four hundred and thirty years after out forefather Abraham came into Canaan, but two hundred and fifteen years only after Jacob removed into Egypt" (Josephus Antiquities of the Jews 2.15.2) What even more interesting is the Samaritan Pentateuch says Now the sojourning of the children of Israel and fathers of them, who dwelt in Canaan and in Egypt, [was] four hundred and thirty years. (Exodus 12:40 Samaritan Torah) This means the Masoretic Torah was altered (corrupted) by the scribes to received it and dropped out Canaan. Unless you disagree with the Samaritan Torah? The other problem seems to point at the God of the Old Testament, who was corrected by Paul and Flavius Josephus. Was it 430 or 215? Did God make a mistake or is it written by imperfect men? Another reason to dismiss the Bible as the very word of God. Good morning people. I guess you mite have noticed that i always post the same topic at a special time, in this case in my country is morning where the brain is fresh and easily absorb knowledge. Well im not sure whether it is night or day in your country. And i hope its a fresh day to accept some knowledge for you. InshaaAllah. The Bible is not a reliable guide to Christ's teachings. Mark, the oldest of the Gospels, was written at least 30 years after Christ, and the newest of them might have been written more than 200 years after him. These texts have been amended, translated, and re-translated so often that it's extremely difficult to gauge the accuracy of current editions-even aside from the matter of the accuracy of texts written decades or centuries after their subject. This is such a problem that the Jesus Seminar, a colloquium of over 200 Protestant Gospel scholars mostly employed at religious colleges and seminaries, undertook in 1985 a multi-year investigation into the historicity of the statements and deeds attributed to Jesus in the New Testament. They concluded that only 18% of the statements and 16% of the deeds attributed to Jesus had a high likelihood of being historically accurate. So, in a very real sense fundamentalists-who claim to believe in the literal truth of the Bible-are not followers of Jesus Christ; rather, they are followers of those who, decades or centuries later, put words in his mouth. The Bible, Christianity's basic text, is riddled with contradictions. There are a number of glaring contradictions in the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments, and including some within the same books. A few examples: ". . . God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man." (James:1:13) "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham." (Genesis 22:1) ". . . for I am merciful, saith the Lord, and I will not keep anger forever." (Jeremiah 3:12) "Ye have kindled a fire in mine anger, which shall burn forever. Thus saith the Lord." (Jeremiah 17:4) "If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true." (John 5:31, J.C. speaking) "I am one that bear witness of myself . . ." (John 8:18, J.C. speaking) and last but not least: "I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved." (Genesis 32:30) "No man hath seen God at any time." (John 1:18) "And I [God] will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts . . ." (Exodus 33:23) the Bible is not a reliable guide to Christ’s words.

"You can still feel the fall out from the Miners Strike". That was over 30 years ago before a lot of these were born. And coming from a mining area myself there did used to be an attitude of you don't need school because you'll go down the pit like your dad did and his dad did. That needs to change and is a bit shit it hasn't. You can't use the pits closing as an excuse.

Well said mate. Totally agree with the mindset thing, I once wanted to follow my dads footsteps (which weren't great, career wise) but managed to educate myself a bit and come to the realisation that there are far more things to do out there than play it safe. Now my dad wants to follow my footsteps hahaha :-)

so many rich people in the comments blaming poverty on poor people. like, do you not understand that capitalism is based on competition, so the majority of people are therefore systematically forced to live in these conditions? i'm not saying that capitalism can't still be fair, but when the government's benefit system and public services are hardly keeping people alive there's an issue. there's been real cases of people dying because of starvation and yet there's people in this comment section calling them lazy. the fact of the matter is that there aren't any jobs, and people can't just pull money out of thin air to support themselves through university or higher education when they have a family to feed.
@j0nny93rs
@j0nny93rs 5 жыл бұрын
listen these people are poor because they breed more children than they can provide for. Because they raise these children so badly that they are raised without drive or incentive to get a job and just follow in their parents footsteps. Im not saying benefits are bad my mum was on them and worked at the same time and received aid in what she couldn't as she looked after 4 kids well. but she looked after us right disciplined us and gave us Drive,. She led by example. The fact that a whole house of young men and not one had a job shows just what the issue is.

People shouldnt rely on benefits or feel entitled for it. If you think you are poor there are many jobs out there that does not require interviews or qualifications. Deliveroo, ubereats, mint staffing and other agencies like it. It’s the mindset of these people that needs to change and its our obligation to help them be more self aware. Free money is not help its giving them more reason to be idle. They cannot say that there is no jobs in the UK when the companies i mentioned take on thousands every year. First world country like ours have some people too complacent with the amount of free shit available to us. We have got a mind set problem not a government problem.

How do you know who’s rich and who’s not? Give me a break. What I do see, is clear evidence of people in this program that say, f*** all. We’ll just keep having kids that we’ll struggle to provide for and just continue the cycle of poverty. People always blame the system when they don’t want to deal. Jesus. Send the feral neighbor kids home. Lock yourselves indoors with your kids and read a book or 10. Play. Interact. Parent them. Mom, you’re not working? Nkay. Make your kids education and nurturing your job.

It would have been pleasing for the programme to end with news of a BBC initiative to train and employ some of these youngsters who are virtually living on the BBC's own doorstep. This however would be too much for an organisation that is too busy arranging tax avoidance schemes for its stars and taking people who have failed to pay the BBC tax to court.

I applaud to quality of montage of the video to bbc editors, great music choice for background. Pretty chilling to watch overall. In regards to the topic i think whoever wants to change their situation in most cases will do it, find any type of job, start progressing. But evidently a lot of homeless folks actually enjoy this care/work free, relaxing, doing drugs, leeching lifestyle.

Young people have been let down since the late eighties! Youth centres closed, adventure playgrounds closed! Thousands of homes being built for people who have not even arrived in the country yet! There are never any conversations in parliament, about doing more for young people. And services are always having funding cut, and being closed down! I wish I had the energy to champion the kids of today! Because that's what they need, a voice to represent them, other than drill artists! If the cost of living in cities like London, was not soo high, then maybe, parents could work less, and spend more time with their families!? The world is fucked and it's frustrating and sad, to see it getting worse!
